the crossmember was about 300 or so and it is a weld in. it's pretty straight foward. before you disassemble the original front suspension mark you axle center line on the frame. i don't think that heidt's makes a crossmember specifically for your year model, but all you have to do is measure the width of your frame and call and they will get you set up. the tubular control arms are $300 and the dropped spindles are $150. i looked them up in a magazine. They are much cheaper than heidt's control and in my opinion they are better. these use a little thicker tubing.

i will pick up the magazine tomorrow. its gunna be a pain having to pull the motor. lol but if i wanna get on the ground, i gotta do it.

it may be a pain to pull the motor, but i would go ahead and pull the front end too. it will make it a lot easier getting in there to do everything. i looked up heidt's control arms and they run for $339 just for the tubular lowers, their dropped spindles are $319!!! you may find crossmembers that are cheaper than heidt's, but that's jus what i went with. if you need anymore info let me know and i'll see what i can do.

well i will pick up street rodder tomorrow and see whats happens. i will keep this updated as i go, if i need part numbers and all. what type of brackets does the MII suspension use? is it like torsions style brackets? brackets on the lower arm and a mount coming off the frame.... or is it cups? or whats up ?

i dont think it will be tooo bad to pull the motor, but we shall see i guess! not too many things to unhook being its carbed/standard/no emmissions lol. pretty much, coil/starter/battery hookups lol

did i mention this is all in a single car garage.....

the mustang II control arms bolt up to the crossmember so there are no brackets needed for the tubular lower arms, the crossmember kit will come with a "hat". this mounts on top of the frame right about the lower part of the crossmember. the upper control arms bolt up to this hat as well as the air bags, so really there is not any other brackets that are needed. everything bolts directly to the crossmember. you may be able to look at my pics and may be able to tell what i'm talkin about. it's really not as complicated as it sounds.

yah i get how it all mounts, i was just asking as far as bags are concerned, but u make it sound as though the arms have the bag brackets like made into them.
