Ok, I've talked to other people before and Lecarra. Two of the guys I talked to said that they just ordered the one for a 92 ranger and that it fits their ranger. Another guy I talked to however, said that he had to get one custom made because the lecarra one wasn't splined.

Has anyone ordered a Lecarra billet steering wheel adapter recently for their ranger and it was splined? I say recently because the two guys who had theirs fit ordered the adapter about 2 years ago, and the other guy ordered his like 1 year ago.

When I called Lecarra a while back she told me that the ones for the 92 rangers were a squareD style. I'll prolly call them again today but wanted some assurance from some other people since the Lecarra people sometimes know what they are talking about and sometimes don't. They also don't like it if I mention that I want to use it on a 98 because of their liability reasons.

that cant mention it cause of liability reasons -- they told me the same thing and the one that is on my truck is the one they sent me -- they will send you the right one they just cant say its the right one simply cause our model truck has airbags installed in the steering wheel and they dont want to be responsible --- so get the older adapter -- its the one i use and its a simple install -- the hard part is taking out your stock steering wheel --- hope all goes well !!!

yeah, I had a hell of a time getting the steering wheel off. I ended up using a rental 3 jaw puller from auto zone, took two trys and a really loud pop for it to come off, lol. So you just ordered the one for the 92 ranger, and didn't mention to them at all what year ranger it was going on?

How long ago did you order yours?

I CANT SAY FOR CERTAIN WHICH ONE THAT I ORDERED -- I EXPLAINED TO THEM THE SITUATION AND THEY TOLD ME THE EXACT SAME AS THEY TOLD YOU -- I TOOK A CHANCE AND THEY SENT ME THE RIGHT ONE -- I ORDER THIS WHEEL NO MORE THEN 8 MONTHS AGO ---

cool thanks man. I guess when I call them I'll tell them what it's going on and maybe they have splined ones sitting around that they just don't tell people about but still ship, lol.

I got the Grant one for a 92. Just have to rip out all the factory stuff and rewire your horn.

Also, mines not splined but held in with the bolt. The spline is not necessary.

Well I'll try lecarra because they ship quickly and when I talked to her a couple of months ago she said they will take it back if it doesn't fit. I would like the spline because my steering is a little tight now with the bd.

That's another question I guess I can just ask here. For those of you who are bd'd, did you have to add another joint for the steering? I threw my wheel on and it seems to turn fairly easily, however I don't have any wheels on it, but it's not binding up or anything.

Is the extra joint for safety or is it for turning ease?
