I have an extra joint in mine...and it steers tuff to the left...don't know why???? you aren't going to wait for the AA billet wheel?

I ordered my steering wheel before I was even a prospect, that and when I saw the acro listing there was talk of having to be a full member to buy one. Perhaps when they are made I'll look into selling my wheel and buying the AA one.

That's weird about the steering on yours. I'm hoping james will chime in about the extra joint, lol.

RIGHT AFTER THE BODY DROP THE STERRING WAS A BIT TUFF BUT AFTER A FEW TURNS ITS SEEMS FINE TO ME NOT HARD AT ALL TO STEER EITHER WAY --- SO THERE WAS NO MODIFYING OF THE STERRING ON MY TRUCK !!!

That's reassuring Tim since your engine cradle is up higher than mine since it doesn't lay out. Lol, I'm just f*ckin with ya on that one man. I don't think I need to mess with it, like you said it was hard to turn when I first grabbed it, but I was trying to do it by hand. I can still turn it just by grabbing the steering shaft now. I just wanted to double check there wasn't a safety issue I'm overlooking.

It's not a very big secret, lol. I have threads on other forums, for some reason I thought I had a thread on here. I'll have to put some new pics up in my profile.

So, yes I'm bodydropped 2.5" traditional.

i just put a grant gt on my 95 ranger about 2 weeks ago. I'm sure it had the same steering wheel as yours because i've seen brand new ranger with the same steering wheel. Anyway i just bought an adapter kit for a 94 with no airbag. Unplugged the battery for about 10 minutes and popped the little plastic plugs off of each side of the steering wheel. Unscrew those 2 bolts and the airbag comes out. Unplug the airbag then use a big torque bit to take off the center bolt. Then the steering wheel came out. Took out the ribbon wire and the white plastic peice and snipped the wires. Mine didnt have any splines. It was round with a flat spot on much like the letter D and thats what locked it in place. Bolted everything back together and everything works like a charm. Hope that helps.

I already got it apart. I noticed on my spline that there is a flat spot at the top as well. It's not much of a flat spot though, lol. Ford must have taken their previous ones and just splined them for some dumbass reason.

yea if its the D one itll work( D meaning the end of the shaft were the wheel goes on) and YES you need an extra join on your steering! if u dont wana spend alot of money and do it for low budget, get the steering shaft out of an aerostar. has to 2 ujoints and a shaft and it MITE bolt on(i have one just havnt tried it yet) you mite have to shorten the shaft tho, but if not your steering is in a lil bit of a bind. the 98 ups have universals on the rack dont they? its ben a minute since ive seen one.

Universal on the rack? Don't know what you describe as a universal joint. Hell I don't even know what's under the boot. Right now though it's at about a 45 degree angle, lol. What way do people normally add another joint?
