jiggawho111 >>> i guess i need to clarify! you both made very valid points (well, the positive ones) so i guess in a 50-50 aspect i agree with you both. she made va=lid about family and you made valid about everything custom. those combined thoughts are what MT is all bout. kyle also made a valid point about plane jane. who gives a shit if you love or hate it - we are all talking about it and i guess thats what makes things famous!

On other boards, people poke fun, and it gets brushed off. Here, people get offensive, and it turns into a 10 page thread. Its ridiculous really. But I don't see it changing.

It isn't just the scene. It is people in general.

You hear people talking about the street rodders and the fact that they don't talk shit and they all get along. That is because the general age of them is 40's and older. These are the generations that were all about "Respect thy fellow man" and practice it with everything. If they have nothing to say they usually don't say anything. And unfortunately the younger generations don't seem to have a grasp on that. It is all about "personal pride" 90% of the 40 and younger generations believe their shit doesn't stink, And if someone else's shit smells a little better they have to be attacked.

We all need to learn respect and use it.

its all relative, at one point of my life mini trucks were somewhat of a lifestyle and more family, but I have been married for 14 years, have 13yr son, 8yr son, and a 5yr son, so that is what family is to me and my lifestyle is husband and father, going to see slayer with my oldest son, or workin on my truck with my middle boy, or watching my youngest son with is long hair think he is jonathan davis from korn and knows the lyrics to blind and thinks new korn sucks, when you have all this you relise yeah mini trucks are a hobby and a damn good one at that, but I would dump all 3 of my body dropped trucks to make sure my "family" has food on the table, but many years ago at 18 years old hell yeah mini trucks were my lifestyle

i have a friend that is in his 60s, larry kramer, he has built a huge number of high end vehicles (merrodder the red 49 merc in the bfg ads along with countless others - they call him king-of-mercs) anyway,i ask if they all had issues when they cruised the drive-inns and soda shops back in the 50s. his reply, assholes everywhere man! then he tells me that you get wiser when you get older. you learn to respect the work any type of customizer puts into their shit. but then he says to me - you just have to learn to give respect where its due and shut up the other 50% of the time! he gave me that adivce almost 12 years ago and i live by it everyday! he is truly a role model for me! he lives in kentucky and many of you may know of him...

Ahhh that is a crock.I build streetrods and let me tell you they are worse than any other group in the custom scene.Never have I heard more bad mouthing and shit talking than the oldest of my streetrod customers. There like high school girls trying to smear everyone rep.The older they get the worse they are vulgar profane and offensive.

well, im in the south. guys here are laid back and polite "in general" but i admit when the good ol tennessee boys meet up with the high strung new england boys at the rod shows - yeah, they talk a little smack!

(note: not that all southern boys are polite and not all new england boys are high strung - god knows we need another thread about north and south or something! lol)

Listen Jiggawho111 and everyone else that dont think that mini truckin is not a lifestyle or a family your wrong. Paul has helped out alot of people who needed help with there house among other things and so has other mini truckers that i know. Alot of them would go out of there way to help other mini truckers when they needed it. When we need a place to stay in another state we have places to stay cause other mini truckers open there house and hospitalty to us and vise versa. And it dont matter what club there in and they dont care what club were in. It's because we all love mini truckin. And no matter what you think anybody can consider it what they want to. A hobby or a lifestyle, it is what you call it. It dont matter as long as you love doing it. Paul has been around mini truckin 16 yrs and i have been around it for 3yrs and in that 3 yrs i have met alot of mini truckers and became friends with alot. From the things that i have learned i will soon one day build my own. All mini truckers that i have meet have taught me something and i'm going to take that and learn more and pass it down to my kids. I consider that FAMILY! When a big group of people are there to teach you and be there for you when you need it is a FAMILY! I dont care what you say.. And I also cosider it a LIFESTYLE because that is what it is. Something that we talk about and do everyday is a LIFESTYLE everything else is a hobby. This is LISA Sicpups Girlfriend.....

I agree with this chic 110% very well put.

some people, like myself, are just negative people, we dont hate, we just always see the negative in every situation... i like to get a rise out of people, i think its funny how easy someone can get worked up over something dumb.... i wish people could do that to me, i like to get mad before i work out, i wish i could just jump on ssm before, instead, i have to watch the box set of my super sweet sixteen, those bitches and their worthless parents make me want to open a closed door with someones body...
