Camarro clips work great but for the price yeah id say porterbuilt. Yeah when u section the front cross member u throw off the geometry thats y ur having tow probs. You can correct it but its easier...(I cant stress this enough) "IMO" to just z the front than to do all of that.

Yeah personally I would Z it, and section the crossmember below the motor so that it keeps the motor down low but doesn't change the crossmember.

But my friend put his tie rods on the bottom side of the spindle, and now has less bump steer than when it was sprung.

I would section it a little further in that way you can keep the factory frame holes lined up and make a new set of motor mounts beacause with that section from the pictures it looks as if your going to have to make some gussets or rebuild that area for strength. Not sure what you guys did for that?

Forget what I just said about the bringing the section further in that wouldnt work you would just re drill new holes I'm a having a "Dee Da Dee" moment.

porter builts are a lot of money but i put one on a 91 sub and the truck lays on 24's with out zing or any other bull. also with the porter bullt you do need to do any work on the trany tunnel.

i have an 86 suburban that i z'd the frame and sectioned the crossmember so i can lay on a 24 on a 40ser. tire. the only difference is when i sectioned mine i cut the entire crossmember into two seperate halfs all the way accross, then i took 2in out of it and weld it back up. i also did away with my upper spring pockets flush with the out side of the frame rails. which in doing this i never changed the location of my motor mounts on the crossmember.

Do you have pics? the section that Seth put pics up of shouldn't affect your motor mounts at all either, but I'm interested in seeing your upper bag mounts.

Anyone know if you absolutely have to use a rack with the Poterbuilt member?
