How many of you guys still get together and throw down on a buddies truck for the hell of bein in the garage havin a few beers with some buddies building rides? I have asked and asked for help around here and can't get a commitment from anyone. I don't mean shops, I mean people in town you know are more than able, just too stuck in the business to actually just help someone. I understand if you run a shop, that's your livelihood, but I know you guys got buddies you help out time to time, right?

This isn't a give me shit for free thread, I have no problem droppin cash on good work, I just wondered. I have tried to find people to help get my shit done, so now it's headed north to Keef soon hopefully to be done. I figure I shouldn't touch it if I am not 150% sure I can complete it.

Sometimes it takes a while to find the right ppl I guess. Are there any clubs in your area you could hook up with to network with/make some new friends? If you're not confident in your abilities you can always clean the shit out of things before you send it to the shop of your choice. Your fabricator will love you for it, trust me. My personal group of friends are always down to help eachother out over a few beers, as a mater of fact I'm off to help a friend work on his mazda tomorrow night. So I guess you could say yes, the minitruckin brotherhood does live on, at least around here it does anyways. Good luck

Yah, that was my plan before taking it on the road up there. To at the very least wire brush all the crap and grease that collected on it over the years it was sitting. I don't think I could drop it off looking like it does under there, to anyone. Theres a club down on the coast, but no clue if they ever do anything.

i feel your pain, dude. that's why my burb's 9 hours away now, because the guy who said he'd help would'nt answer the phone, and i found out through another buddy of ours that he had like 6 trucks lined up in front of me. the dude i took the burb to did all the metalwork for the bag job on my dime when he was a friend of a friend of a friend, same thing happened, everyone said they'd help and no one was anywhere to be found when it came to helping me. One dude did, but i had to get the metal work done before we could bag it, and not only did the dude build it for me, he built it in his garage because his boss did'nt want him to cut me a deal on it, so he did it in his garage. Jon, you're my hero!! hahahaha if i was nearby and the wife would'nt cut my dick off, i'd help ya, bro.

Sadly, no. Its hard enough to get people in my club to help out. I am always willing to help, but after a while you get really discouraged when no one will help you in return.

i understand that completely seth, i just enjoy workin on cars and trucks. i dont get pissed when workin on other peoples stuff, but as soon as shit happens with mine, im over the top pissed. i guess thats why im more willing to help others on there shit rather than mine.

but again, like you said, after a while you say fuck it because at some point you need shit in return for the time and effort you put out.

Yeah. Its nice to have someone to help you remove a bed once in a while. Shit.

I usually only get pissed off when I'm loosing my ass money wise, which has happened quite a lot lately. I like working on my truck, and friends trucks. It would just be nice if they returned the favor sometimes. Its nice to just hang out and get a few things done in a day and go eat some Pizza and drink some beers. But it seems like you have to pull teeth to get people to do it.

who would have thought you would have to pull teeth to get some guys to lift maybe 50 lbs for a case of beer

Ive always been a person that is willing to do whatever is needed to work on or fix my buddies stuff. When it comes time for them to help me it seems like they are too busy, but I still find myself doing for them. Its like this...just keep being yourself & one day youll get some friends that are willing to help you like you help them.
