I'll be honest though, it is possible to get people to help. Its harder when you tell people on Wednesday "Hey I need help notching my truck this weekend." Because they may have some plans. The only time its worked for me, it worked incredibly well. But I planned it a month ahead of time.

I planned a cab setting party, and provided barbequed hot dogs, and chili for everybody. I was surprised when about a dozen people showed up, only about 5 where from the club. The rest drove between 1 and 2 hours to show up. It was a good time. Even got BenDaPirate to show up. I swear that guy dropped a bill on chips and beer at Safeway.

We worked for about 30 minutes.

30 minutes. if i could get 30 minutes every little bit it would be cool. to me if my trucks not going to make a show i want it to be because we worked on it and couldnt get it done between bullshitting, having some drinks, and bullshitting some more forgetting about the truck. makes it worth not having it at a show.

I guess I'm lucky, I've always got someone nearby and usually willing to help.

Man it gets old working 8-10 hours a day, by yourself. Then coming home and working in your garage by yourself. We use to have a hang out in town everyone went to work, grill, and bullshit at. I miss that

I think I just talked my brother into building an oldschool Ranger with a camber shell. I'll make him help me.

ive got a buddy that helps me nonstop. we're beginning to think though that im bad luck. cuz every time he helps me something breaks on his truck. went to pick up a rearend for my mazda-his tire went flat and he cracked a rim on the way home, he left the rearend in his bed for about a week-it bounced around and knocked a dent in the side of his inner bed. i help him when i can. but my help doesnt add up to his help by a long shot. not because i dont wanna help, but because i dont have the skills needed to help. hell, he's offered up his shop, his time, his skills, and putting up with me to bag and bd my truck. he's so nice sometimes i feel bad. ive got other friends that help whenever they can too. one thatll build me whatever, i just supply materials, and another hooks me up on parts. so there out there dude, just might take some hard looking.

people love to help until they get burned, and it sucks when that happens, i've seen a lot of bad blood in the clubs and friends over helping out. Hell even happened to me , but you don't need a bunch of help. just havin one buddy around to push you to finish weld something or finishing makeing tabs, or even cleaning up corners. It can make the difference between on polishing wheels on a freshlly done mini at the first show of the season, or walking past a half-covered, surface rusted, sap and leaf collector sitting in your driveway.

^ I have a friend like that. He critiques the shit out of everything I do. And I always try to step it up just to impress him.
