pretty much as far i know any private party sale is as is, it is up to the party buying vehicle to have it inspected if they chose not to its their fault. time to call dewey chetum and howe

you'll probably be fine. make sure you keep all correspondence that you had with them (ie, private messages, emails, etc)

i dont even think anything has to be stated as is. becuase he is not selling the vehicle with any warrentee or guarentee like dealerships do thats where the wording is important. almost certain all used vehicles sold are "as is" becuuase they are not sold with gaurentee or warrantee

ive seen the same situation on Judge Judy , someone buaght a car that wasnt all they were expecting it to be and it was the buyers fault.

Everyone wins on Judge Judy, all parties are paid and its a TV show, lol.

He may be ok, however if he had a bill of sale saying "sold as is" then he would really be ok. Thats all im trying to say.

Did you exchange emails or anything in writing that stated what needed to be done to finish it?? To be safe Id go talk to an attorney & see what he/she says about the situation.

if im not mistaken, they would have to file court papers in YOUR state. most people wont go through that expense and/or trouble out of state...

yea man bottum line it was their responsibility to have the truck check out. i wouldnt worry about it

this sucks... sounds like its the buyers fault. as long as you never lied to them about any questions they asked then they basically have no case IMO. I think the used vehicles being sold "as is" is a state law issue. They saw pictures, it's their fault that they can't realize primer or have the common sense to ask, "hey what color is that flat color that looks like it has no shine" sounds like they are just trying to bully you into giving them some of the money back

Yeah well I got my money, and It's already gone, and they accepted the truck off the carriers truck, so to me, its in their hands and not my problem.

I sent 3 pictures, a few details, they wanted it ASAP. whatever, they rushed it. They were being really shady towards the end as far as money they had my title and i didnt have a dime and they wanted the truck on its way before the wire transfer finalized so i told them "yeah ok thats fine ill let it go i trust you" got wire transfer notification and still waited til it cleared before i ever actually let it go.

I already talked to everyone at my work about this (i work at a dealership) and everyone said they could send 20 lawyers and could not win their case.
