If there is a written Bill Of Sale signed by both parties, that is essentially a release of liability and it's out of your hands. If the vehicle has been misrepresented that should have been up to them to determine and inspect personally.

If there was no Bill of Sale signed, it is "technically" your truck still...

You are technically only obligated to disclose information pertaining to the questions the buyers ask. It is the buyers responsibility to determine the "overall" state of the vehicle.

Tell them to suck a fattie

I agree with this 100% in fact I assume the owner just signed the tittle over and mailed it away. Thats also not technically legal, that has to be done with both parties present and a notary in most states if not all. Now people fudge that and get away with it all the time when both parties are happy with the sale. In this case he may really be up against it with no bill of sale and not having a notary do the tittle.

I would maybe call yourself an attorny if they are really coming after you.

Try this site.... maybe you might find something on there. He actually answered a question for me a long time ago when I was writing a legal brief in one of my business law classes a few years back. Good luck!

I got my money...and i had the title notarized when before I mailed it out.

Though both parties werent present (different states) it was notarized that I was signing the title over to a new owner.

The one and only phone call I had with their "attorney" I just told them that they bought the truck out of state never looked at it or had anyone look at it and I sent reciepts for 3 times what I let it go for to them so I don't know what they're trying to get. The attorney said she would call them and see if they want to persue, I never got a call back from either one.

This is kinda long but I dont think I said anything that could come back to me...

I have an email he asked "is the whole vehicle primer or just the bumper?"

My reply was: "whole vehicle is 2 tone PPG epoxy primer baby blue and black. $7,000 is fine and lowest I'll accept if you pay shipping. I have all the reciepts just the shave job and frame build before the bed was made one piece was $7,800. Frame is painted mini cooper electric blue, suspension is powdercoated silver. Wheels are 22x9.5 Martin bros. with 255/30/22 Nitto NT555 practically new. Bumper is one off sheet metal by Autocore Kustoms. Sheet metal bedfloor everything shaved from front to back not a single item that was not shaved besides teh side mirrors and 3rd brake light. All bodywork was done by Deranged Rides in Southern Cali. it's a KP 6 link with a watts link built by Autocore Kustoms. Seats are wrapped in tan leather, tan elephant skin, and black suede. Center console is fiberglass and will hold 2 10" subwooders. Will send all reciepts and rendering with the truck. Also has been shot for Sport Truck magazine but has not been run yet. and various pics ehre and there in lots of magazines. A paintjob minor bodywork and paint or wrap the interior plastics and the truck is finished."

"Thanks for all the info. I was a just curious to find out a little more about the interior what do you mean(plastics in interior) Is it in good shape other than customizing the interior. I would also like to see pics of the interior and a side and rear view of the truck if possible, either to my cell phone (219) 575-0745 or e-mail address lil_mexicanita210@hotmail.com. Thanks again!! "

"plastics meaning dash, door panels, etc. I'll email some pictures."

"I got a carfax report and it shows that this vehicle was in an accidnet on 10/24/04, from what it says I'm assuming that this was prior to you owning it. Do you know how bad the accident was, since it says that the damage was moderate to severe. I also need to know wether or not the title has a salvage title. Would you be able to e-mail me a copy of the title front and back. I'm not to worried about the vehicle being in an accident, but I would like to know.. what situation I'm putting myself into when I decide to sell, since many people around here won't pay a whole lot for salvage vehicles. "

"I owned the vehicle during that accident it was nothing major a lady pulled out in front of me and I T-boned her going about 30 according to the police report. It was just new hood and fenders grill headlights no big deal since everything since is after market no damage to the frame or anything plus the frame was all rebuilt since anyways for the bodydrop, the truck was stock at the time. Not a salvage title and I'm still waiting for it from the bank but I have a statement from them stating the title is now in my name and should have it shortly I could send you a copy of that..."

"I would greatly appreciate it if you can send me that statement from the bank. How can we work this out since you don't have the title yet? Can we just make an agreement that the truck is sold and when you receive the title we can finalize everything, payment and all? "

After I recieved the title I had it notarized that i was releasing it to them... Now they accepted the truck even after looking it over when the transport carrier got to their house. Now they are pissed cuz it doesnt have a back window and there is some damage on the bed and the seats arent bolted down and its going to cost more to finish than they thought, not my fault they got quotes to finish it before even having it.

yeah, dude, i don't think you have anything to worry about. Hell, i flew my dumb ass 1400 miles to salt lake city because the dude told me i could drive it back to arkansas. I asked a shitload of questions, and everything i asked that would be a deal breaker, he answered right. Well, it was a nightmare getting home, but i figure that's my problem. It's all on the buyer, not the seller. Don't worry about it.
