Thank god someone posted a picture of a heim joint in the end of a radius arm so framedranger gets it. Also like Justin said you could make new mounts and longer radius arms and that will help slow down the amount that the wheel will arc back with exterme lift. Also the fullsize Ford 4x4 that I bagged had straight axles underneath it so that's a moot point so get you facts straight before you post. Anyone with half a brain knows that you can't just weld a heim joint on the end. You need to make a sleeve or something you can weld onto the end of what you working on or make new arms. On another note I have seen a couple rangers with the bags up by the radiator cantilevered back over the i-beam and radius arms.

Framedranger, you'd bag it on the inside of the radius arm so it doesn't lose turning radius. Did you bag your truck or was it bagged when you bought it? If you bagged it then you probably looked for other places you could stick a bag.

Chris no one is saying not to put heims on the radius arms. You first statment was just put heims on the radius arm and thats it none on the beam. This would not fix the problem that was mention byaoutmatik23 about the beam bolt snapping because of the twist on the beam while trying to laying 20,s. You then later changed your statment and said (you would also have address the beams as well) ...and yes i did bag the front of my truck

On my first post I was talking about the radius arms. On the second post I said you would have to address that issue with the i-beams as well. I never changed my statement I added another post saying you would have to take care of that as well. You mean those upper tubular bag mounts weren't on that truck when you bought it? Anyways, back to the topic at hand. It is possible to lay on 20's with beams, theres just a lot of fabrication involved to do it correctly. Just make sure that you box in all the areas that you notch out of the crossmembers and frame so its not a hacked up unsafe chassis like a lot of the ones you see out there these days. Like mentioned before you can go with a toyota or M2 clip and save yourself the hassle of messing with i-beams as long as you have the skill, tools, and knowledge to do it.

Just so everybody can see what chris and I are babiling on about like children. Here is a pic of the i beam bushng and a pic of the radius arm bushing. I know the I beam bushing looks bad but thats just the way it is when trying to lay on big wheels...which one do you guys think is in need of a heim joint more the radius arm  mount or the i beam

Thats on a small 18" wheel not a 20" wheel.  Add 2-3 more inches to that radius rod and and see how bad it gets.  They both could use them on 20's.

---------------------------------------------LOL!  18's were big in like 1995,  I could see trying to lay on like 22's or 24's...  18's   just cute little guys....

i would look into putting heim joints at all the pivot points... should help out alot with the beam wanting to twist back and break the bolt...

I'm with James. Toyata front clip FTW. After reading this and giving my self a face ache, I just don't see how keeping the I-beams would be any easier than changing the clip out
