---------------------------------------------Originally posted by DanWardTruckinEditorEdited: 5/11/2009 4:19:08 PM by DanWardTruckinEditorCoverage has always been the same. We all go to the same shows and we all take photos of the same trucks at those shows. Not much we can do about show coverage. Like I said before, our online show coverage shows more angles and behind-the-scenes stuff. It's the features that get tricky. I like to be upfront and honest with a truck owner and explain to him/her that if I shoot your truck, out of respect, we expect them not to let anyone else from any other mag shoot it until it comes out.Stuff happens, and it sucks, that's why you see same trucks in different mags withing a month or two. Usually, that means a truck owner wasn't being 100% honest. If we don't get a tech sheet right away, that usually means the owner is being shady and trying to get into every mag on the planet. If the same truck comes out in another mag months down the line, than everything is all good. It is what it is. The truck owner has to choose what mag they want to be in. In regards to the chicks, I couldn't agree with you more Chris. That's a big reason why you won't see a bunch of chicks in Truckin' and even fewer (if any, really) on the cover. We've always been the family-friendly coffee table book. I'll be straight up with you, we've run plenty of bikini contest photos in the past, but it really doesn't sell anymore mags. As far as the bikini contest winners taking home more $ than the "Best Of" owners, that's all on the show promoters. If I had to guess, they think if there are more hot chicks there, more guys will come, which means more trucks, etc. --------------------------------------------- Dan, thanks for the response. Regarding consolidation,, I guess that is tougher forecast answer that you probably can't share, but i would think that consolidation would make sense in being able to maximize advertising sales. JP
