---------------------------------------------Originally posted by BrandanHi  guys, I'm Brandan ,the Feature Editor of Truckin'. I've been working with Dan for almost 4 years now and I'm glad to see that Dan's moving the magazine in its current direction and happy to be a part of it. It's good to see that you guys are responsive and have both questions and criticism. JP, as to your question about consolidation, there's really not much we can tell you as editors. Not that because we can't spread it all around on forums like this, but because we don't know. What I do know is that the company wouldn't be publishing a magazine unless it's making money. Times are tough for magazines, that's no secret, but our truck group is holding its own and as long as we're in the black we'll be making magazines.---------------------------------------------Dang we got Brandan here also!!! Welcome Brandan. We now pretty much have the whole TRUCKIN` crew!!!

Ive had the pleasure of working with Dan on a few of my projects and i can honestly say that he is a man of his words, Truckin would be my first choice out of any mag to be on the cover or featured for, all i can say is keep up the good work Dan and i will continue to be a subscriber to Truckin

---------------------------------------------Originally posted by BurrellimagesIt's cool to see Dan, Mike and other editors on here takling about their magazines.  Just goes to show that they are every day people like all us.  I too have noticed the change since Dan took over.  My first cover was actually shot for Truckin Magazine back when Dan was an associate editor and i've made pretty good friends with Dan since then.  Thanks for the big break! I think there are big things to come for Truckin Magazine.  As for the boats, being a freelancer ive heard that for years, but like he said, things are changing!  Give it a chance.  And the ads are important.  With no ads, there is not magazine, which inturn means there is no photographers shooting the truck you've worked so hard on.  It's just like commercials on TV, they HAVE to be there, deal with it!!   I can't wait to see Truckin continue to grow!  Thanks for the numbers too.  Thats crazy to see how all the mags vary from department to department.---------------------------------------------  im with brandon on this.  i like seeing all the editors on here. ive been seeing truckin turn around and thats good. i ocassionaly would buy one off the stands mainly to see all the ads really. you can find alot of info by flipping the pages of truckin instead of aimless searching on the internet. sometime what you dont know your looking for jsut happens to leap off a page at you. i would like to see more import truck in trucking. like brian said. "its not domestic truckin" its jsut truckin. and i feel all custom trucks have the right to be on the cover of the mag. honestly i think it would help sell more mags because of it. some people jsut looking on the shelves might see another nbs chevy and just look right by, but throw a new titan or tundra or any other import on the cover and more people will pick it up.  i def think dan is a great choice for this obstacle. and will turn truckin around into the mag we all used to love.

Jason,Dan has gone out on a limb a few times when it comes to picking trucks for the cover. Truckin' used to be pretty reactionary when it came to sales numbers. If a magazine had poor sales then it had to be something wrong with the truck on the cover and whatever it was that made the truck different had to avoided on future covers. We'd like to think that it's more than the cover that sells the magazine, but I'll admit, I did buy GQ in an airport when Megan Fox was on the cover only to have like 2 more photos inside. Those bastards!

I have read more Truckin' Magazines in the past few years than I have in the past decade or so that I have been buying them. Dan has done a great job with the mag!

Have to agree with all that content is where it's at. I pick up different mags on a regular basis, just to see the differences. I know that advertising is a must, that's why I don't gripe and rather look into it and see what the different companies have to offer. Plus it's nice to see the "customer satisfaction" in some of the ads.  As far as features I know that some of them are more apt to have more pages of features than others, but that's expected due to the number of different rides Truckin' can cover vice Mini Truckin' and so forth.  It is what it is, we all will pick up one or the other to tantalize our minds aside from the math we must do for our projects, SO BE IT!! Enjoy what your favorite mag has to offer and pick up the others from time to time, you never know what you may find.

---------------------------------------------Originally posted by baggednblueSince we are on the topic of mags and new content.  I was wondering the other day reading MT that there is an increase in woman on the cover and in the mags.  Why is that?  Does it help numbers?  Is it really necessary?  Is that actually going to make someone buy the mag because there is some nasty skank on the cover.  And if there is why don't people just buy a porno mag.  Its sad that when you go to a show and the bikini contest winner gets 1500 and best of show gets a 2 dollar piece of metal.  Just sucks when my girls kids wants to look at the mag and my gf wont let them because of the content.  Sorry to hijack the thread and was just wondering what other peoples voice was on this?  ---------------------------------------------I agree on this. I'm a married man and it really pisses me off that the past few issues of MT has skanks on the cover and what's worst is they waste two or three of the few pages they can have on the mag and waste them by interviewing these dumb bitches. I could give a flying fuck less what they like to do everyday and how they want bentlys and they like to shop for clothes.
