one of my fav quotes I heard lately an it fits in will all this crap is Where the people fear the government you have tyranny. Where the government fears the people you have liberty    its the fact that the governement doesnt fear the people anymore cuz there drunk with power and money and its because they got away over the years telling us what to do and we went with it cuz we didnt care we blived them. I think with all this stuff going on and trying tell us what to do an what were going to drive will wake up the american people and they will fight back and bring back freedom instead of socialism government that they are trying to make us.  were headed down the same road as britian an look at what bad shape they are in. were starting what they did sumthing like 10 years ago and look where it got them.......ive got to stop watching fox news...im learning stuff haha lol. couple more quotes i like Democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding what to eat for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote The most dangerous man, to any government, is the man who is able to think things out for himself... Almost inevitably, he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, and intolerable.   H.L. Mencken  Giving money and power to Government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys. P. J O'Roukel theres a hole bunch more of the quotes at   http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Government

Are any of the programs that Mike Finnegans article speak of a "forcing" program?  I know what some states had talked about implementing was an incentive program to trade in/scrap your older vehicle for a large rebate towards a new vehicle.   We can all speculate as to where the govt may take it from here but as far as I have heard that is the current state of affairs.

---------------------------------------------Originally posted by B rad rangeron22zAnd Mccain would be doing better? There is a lot more to government than one person. Most of government is corrupt from being paid off my HUGE corporate American companies.Let me rephrase, America is controlled by those HUGE corporate companies.Once everyone stops pointing fingers and understands that you cant blame one person, and take their .0000000000000001% of responsibility for the situation we are in, the better.Jance, just lost a lot of respect for posting propaganda. --------------------------------------------- Yes, there is a lot more to government than one person.  And my criticism is aimed at our liberal majority in government as a whole, not just our new president, but congress as well.  Now with a liberal majority in congress and the most extreme liberal executive leader in our history, there is no check for their agenda.  We were already on a slippery financial slope heading toward an enormous national debt under Bush (who for all intents and purposes was a financial liberal).  Now this new administration's answer is to step on the gas and throw more money at the problems, almost ensuring that we will saddle our great grand children with the burden of our debt.  You asked if McCain would do any better, that will never be answered now, but I am sure that he would have done differently, considering that he is at least somewhat fiscally conservative.  If you review past administrations everything seems to go the best when we have a moderate president (either moderate liberal or conservative) and a congress that had a slight opposing majority, that helps enforce the checks and balances system that this government was supposed to be based upon.  As it is now there is a very liberal congress being lead by an extremely liberal president, and this will undoubtedly lead to wild spending and ultimately a nearly insurmountable national debt, unless the people stand up to be heard that we will not stand for this.  There are many other facets of this current circumstance that I do not like, but I would have to write a book to underline it all, and this seems to be the most immediate problem facing this country.

I doubt Obama or the US government checks up on SSM or our beloved magezenes, that being said I know mini truckers/car builders make up a huge portion of our population and I know some of us have ties in some form of media so instead of argueing within ourselves over shoulda coulda woulda blah blah blah why not pull together and make a stand of some sort? A country wide car show against taking away old cars and trucks, a protest in the streets though out the US. Set up a paypal to hire a trigger man, fuck I dont know.. something, anything... and im sure this wouldnt be a problem any more. Bad ideas happen all the time and unless some is there to slap you in the back of the head it will be carried out.

---------------------------------------------Originally posted by draggin95nissonly way to overthrow the current government is if everyone bans together and stands up for themselves, which will never happen cu zthe majority of the country is dumbed down just where they want them,(i.e. my first post on page 1), ive lost faith in the voting system, look what happened with florida in th ebush election, this country is ran by corporations not the government, obama is in office cuz they put him there not all the people that voted for him "cuz hes black" (im not prejudice, i hate everyone the same) we as a country have been dooped and now some are waking up and seein it, they have single handedly brought this country to where its at right now, just another step in their plan to get citizens to be government dependent. the thing is they dont want u to succeed, own anything, or be smart enough to have ur own opinion, cuz that puts a wrinkle in their plans. we are in fact FUCKED as u.s. citzens and if nobody stands up and does anything we will continue on this path. i know there are so many more issues with this subject i didnt touch on but u guys get the point.....in other countries the government is scared of the people, here and most comunist countries we the citizens are scared of the government.....

--------------------------------------------- agree 100%  we need to stand up for our rights to be free.....we are not free now,and less and less each day

ok, just got some more info from the news, of all places.  One of the limitations to the program that congress is considering passing is if the vehicle is over 15 years old it does not qualify for the VOLUNTARY program.  They say that this is to keep people from scrapping classic cars

---------------------------------------------Originally posted by msturgwow, I'm all for Mike's article and was definitely a great read. I'm one of the Obama supporters everyone keeps wondering where they are.  I'm not saying I believe in every decision the man makes but I agree with more of his policies than I did McCain/Palin's All I will say though is, if I was going to give someone a ton of money and own a majority of their stock I would most certainly tell them how to run there company.  If they didn't want that to happen then maybe they shouldn't have F'd up to begin with or said no thanks we would rather go bankrupt trying.  You don't see the govt telling Ford to restructure I know this is going to insight flaming, which I'm fine with, hopefully it will force people to do some research before just making one sided comments ---------------------------------------------I'm with you...I happen to like Obama and what he's doing.   Anyone see that porn "Who's Nailin' Palin?"  LOL - I did!
