I know there are more of us that have been through this at Hill's. So if you or your friends have had a similar experience at Hill's and you don't mind speaking up, please do. Thank you!

A comment was brought up on another forum that I didn't handle myself properly and any shop owner would have reacted the same way if I went into their shop and demanded to take MY truck back. Jason even told he didn't like how "it went down" and how I brought my friends with me to his shop to get my truck.  I did call him and tell him my friends were coming two weeks before and that I was picking up some parts. He didn't know I was taking my truck, however he did invite us all to come in. If I would have told him two weeks before I was picking up my truck I could have seen him telling me to pick it up after Sema. He told me that all of my parts would be there for me to pick up which they weren't and I could see myself leaving with missing parts and signing a piece of paper that I would be getting my truck back and not my money. I'm not saying that WOULD have happened, but still... So do you think I handled myself wrong in this situation or would you have done the same thing? Any thoughts? Thanks!

Being one of the buddies that went down on the "road trip,"  The situation was not as Jason is going to have it seem!  We went down there for support and to help Jance load up his truck and parts.  Had we not went down there, Jason would have bullied him around if he was by himself, and would have pushed his truck out the gate along with his parts and made him load up everything on his own, screwing him even further!  We in NO WAY bullied Jason or posed a threat, when Jance and Jason got into the discussion about his truck, we backed off and looked around the shop.  However, Jason got on his phone and called a couple of his buddies to come stand by his side as he talked to Jance, getting in the middle of business that wasn't theirs!  When we were putting on the doors, bolting down the bed, and loading up the truck, We left Jance and Jason to handle THEIR business! We got everything ready to head back home and pulled around front and went inside to wait for Jason to write a check, only to see Jance, Jason, and 2 of his employess in Jasons office talking. We did not go into the office, as this was none of our business, this was between Jance and Jason, and appearatly his employees.  We were not there to bully Jason, but I will say that if Jason would have tried to bully him, we would have stepped in, Because he's our friend and thats what HIS friends would do for HIM!

If no work was done for 4 years you did the shop a favor by picking it up.  You did a good job by setting a plan and  sticking to it.  The proof is in the fact you got a check when you left.  The only stand up thing Jason did was give you the check.  I ran / managed a shop for years and you just cant do business the way Hill's has been.  There really is no more you can do but I apreciate the way you handled your bad experiance.  I think people can learn from this in how to handle yourself in this kind of situation because it could have gone much worse both for you and the shop.

I really appreciate your comments! I wouldn't give him a lot of credit for giving me a check because he didn't want to give me the full amount. I wasn't listening to what he had to say because it sounded like I wasn't going to get anything back! He still has my taillights and I want them back!BTW you guys are horrible at math! 40 months = 3 years and 4 months not 4 years But it's still way too long! Thank you for your support!
