Jance...you are going to build your dream truck now because you are more determined than ever just like we are with the thunderbird.  I cant wait to see the REAL quality that comes out of for SEMA 2010! Keep us updated with pics if you can!!!

Had the same issue with the former "Kustomwerks" and my dually. It was 4 years of of it sititng up there and being worked on only on occassion. Several arguements with the owner and phone calls for legal advice finally same to an end and it was finally finished. I understand how anyone feels when a so called "reputable" shop does this to ANYBODY. If thats how some shops operate, F em. F every one of them. You gives a fat fart cicle how good their work is....if you cant get customer service right...geez!!!

This happens alot with alot of different shops..they slack and have vehicles for waaay to long..  Ive seen good shops that do the same thing. What i dont understand is why the owners of the vehicles wait 2-3 years to realize they need to take their shit and go somewhere else? I would take my truck from a shop if they had it longer than 6 months with no major progress...definately after a year..even if i had to take a loss.  IF a shop doesnt have the time to work on a truck primarely then they shouldnt take the truck into their shop until they are ready for it!!

I dont think you handled it wrong.  I would have done the same thing Jance and my friends would have been along for the ride too. He should have just been honest from the get go.. if its going to take X amount of months or years he should have set that expectation so neither of you had to be in this position.

Thanks everyone for your continued support on this issue! I knew I would be waiting when I got there in June 2006. I never expected to be next in line because this was close to the Sema crunch. However he told me work had begun on my parts... Which he doesn't remember telling me. From January to March 2007, My dad and I remodeled a 6,000 square foot church auditorum in just 7 weeks! We worked over 600 hours each and I didn't have time to physically check in on progress but I was told he was "gaining ground on my project". A few months later there were a few deaths in his family in 2007, where he told me it took a lot out of him. Which I can understand so I knew it was going to be a setback. However he rebuilt his Blazer for Sema the same year. In 2008 my dad and I were back again at the church to remodel the rest of the building, so once again I was taking his word over the phone. My brother is now helping us so it's a family business of 3 men doing our own work because we are all on the same page to keep the quality of our work consistent. We started in January 2008 and finished the job in April 2008 at the church. At this time I wrote Jason a personal letter asking him about my truck and then the deadline. Later in 2008 he purchased a new building so he was going to move the shop. He then built 2 of his own vehicles for Sema in 2008 and in 2009 at the new shop he told me he was ready to start working on my truck and for me to bring him some money. We were suppose to have my frame finished for THW in July but that didn't happen and then I started to seek other options. A few months went by and then I picked up my truck on October 10th, 2009. This is why I stayed so long and why I made of this public. I never got anywhere and I was told something different each time and my property was damaged. I hate myself for going through this for as long as I did, but when you really want something to happen you put your faith in it and hope for the best and I got the worst. I never did any of this to maliciously hurt Jason. I am just stating the facts of what happened during my 40 months of "trying" to have my truck built at his shop. I started everything on my own from day one when I was 16. I take full responibility for everything I have done up until now. I have no demons in my closet and I hopeful that everything will work out and people will understand my side of things and hope it doesn't come back to bite me for "untrue" sayings or events. I know what is right, and it's not Jason Hill.  Here is my personal letter that I wrote to Jason on April 15, 2008.

I got mine out long before he did, mine spent 8 months in the shop and 3 months in court his spent a lot more than that. Luckily both of our trucks emerged pretty well off, hanson's a lot more that mine, but regardless, best of luck with your rebuild and finally getting a truck to SEMA

Another one I considered was Robbie at Pacific Coast Customs but again too far away. It takes me 4 hours one way to get to Lubbock and it was a complete waste of day! At different times I even cracked my windshield and had to replace a 22" tire due to road construction! Such a waste! You probably won't hear from the "big people" on here due to them owning or working at a body shop or their jobs in the industry. And if anyone who knows Jason personally that actually read my entire story, probably wouldn't know what to say. There is a better chance that Kayne West will join SSM and tell me that someone else "had one of the best stories of all time!"
