Mike whats up man? I ordered a set of upper and lower control arms from you roughly 5 years ago for my 86 Isuzu Pup! I was wondering if they made it in the mail last week? or maybe in a day or two? what were the other lines you fed me for weeks and months? better yet, keep my $350, you obviously need it more than I do....

yes I made the cups two piece and tig welded the two pieces. Ive since switched to a one piece.

This is the kind of smart ass crap not needed here. Ive had posts in forums and on my website since January of 2008.

If you really had an order you need to get in touch with me. However I suspect this is an attempt at jumping on the bandwagon. This is the reason I dont even want to post in here. nothing constructive at all, just people who know nothing about me or my situation trying to get in a jab or jump on the bandwagon.

I think everything has been covered here, asked and answered and now its time to move on. Unless theres something useful...

This is what's amazing to me. People that claim to have bought x from Mike you could shut him up so easy by posting proof, a reciept or screen shot of transaction and so fourth. Same applies to Mike you could shut these people up easy as well if you had records as well. Outside lookin in, I know Mike and several of Mikes customers and the stories rarely line up. That speaks volumes and I'm not pointing to either side, just making a point.

Seems like neither side of the argument in most cases is organized very well in this respect.

Mike you seem like you want the thread to end, you are telling people to move on. Guess we will have to end the thread and it seems like zero was solved to me.

I think alot was solved. issues were brought up and shot down.

any issue that Ive had with anything Ive solved....

I have done exactly what I said I would do and that is come back after a year and a half and restarted with absolutely nothing. I have gotten in touch with old customers and made BYC deals right.

This is not in dispute. You say it took longer than it should... maybe. BYC closed in April of 2006, DHP opened in January on 2008. Thats 20 months.

but as stated above, "started over with nothing" means just that. Plus I have a family to take care of. I cant do like most people on here and run home and live with momma and daddy till I get back on my feet. I had to work my ass off and to make the funds to buy equipment, tools, materials etc. You would not believe all the materials it takes to make arms. from making jigs to actual finished products it takes alot.

Ive made every part at DHP better than BYC parts. I pay attention to detail and make the best parts I can make and still make them affordable. If I have any issues I solve them immediately. I have a pretty good record with DHP parts. I make parts for so many different vehicles Im probably trying to expand too fast.

I have refined my order process and all other processes from start to finish on arms.

Since I have a fulltime job the time line will be a problem until I go fulltime again. Thats the reason for the lead times being posted on the home page of my website.

the issues raised here, balljoint cups not "up to par" are the old style two piece design. I used to make them two pieces and tig weld them together then turn them again on the lathe. I now make these from one piece, boom, issue solved.

rod end not having threads all the way up.. used to use bolts turned down. now I use studs. boom, issue solved.

balljoint plates with odd or badly shaped holes. CNC plasma will never be as nice as laser so I choose to drill holes now.

boom, issue solved, and these issues have been solved for a while now.

a few tweaks here and there on time lines, shipping and Im good.

so I think this has been good but its run its course since the same old things keep being brought up.

I welcome any comments but I doubt anyone will email me and go back and forth like in here since theres no audience in email.

To sum it all up I make very good affordable parts. I have plenty of pics on my site and every question is answered about materials and processes so the customer knows everything. I accept Paypal to protect the customer and myself.

I go into forums and keep my presence out there for anyone who needs anything. Ive done alot better than I thought I would and DHP has grown faster than I expected. I actually have a help that turns parts for me on Saturdays.

I look forward to going fulltime sometime in 2011.

so whats to bag on me about? nothing. its just that these guys still want to bag on me. turns out I was right and EVERYONE else except for the people who actually know me was wrong. Yes every one of of you who thought I would not be back was wrong. you were all so vocal... where are you now? staying quiet.

I understand, if I were in your shoes Id do the same thing. Id never think someone would come back from that.

But as Ive stated before this is the scene Ive been in since 1987 and Im dedicated to the scene.

I dont think there is much else I can say. you see my parts, buy them if you want, if not then oh well.

Im trying to help the scene. not trying to get rich and be a big baller, never have been.

peace

It is what it is and in my experience the true is probably somewhere in between what the two parties are saying. In this case you and your customers.

I was hoping this thread would help customers of yours finally get their products, and you to put the right foot forward. Thus both parties happy. So far this thread hasnt been that at all and it would certainly take more than a few days to do.

We can close this if that's what you want though.

I have bought many sets of arms from mike, and most of them were "custom" orders. Mazda arms with toy ball joints, 1-ton chevy arms that are shorter than factory and longer than factory, etc and so far they all have worked and done the job. They look strong and has kept all the vehicles off the ground with no problems. If time is a issue you may have to go somewhere else. Price is always good and the functionality has been fine. I have ordered arms from AIM, and Air ride tech and have issues with both of them. Just today I had to reweld some Air Ride Tech "strong arms" that broke a bag plate weld. His arms are great for 99% of us minitruckers. It would be nice if we could get them quicker like a mass produced arm, but I don't think that will happen, way to many variables.

Does a funky hole from a plasma cut hole affect the way your vehicle ride? No
Does ridges on your ball joint cup affect the way your vehicle ride, or if it started life as 2 parts? No

Could have parts been made better? Yes
Could you have had the part sooner? Yes
Could you have paid more? Yes

Could I be a porn star? Yes
Would anyone watch? No

Just my couple of cents.....

i might get in trouble for saying this but is backdoorbarnyard related to the owner of AIM!?!?!?!?!
reading all of this guys excuse after excuse and saying he has shot the haters down! LOL

it seems like mike worked his whole life on the dirty side of town where everyone says "hell yea that will hold!" and then, it doesnt. but after you bug the living fuck out of him and he does it over 3 times theres a 50/50 chance the customer will be happy. and thats if your willing to spend an ass of time to chase it. COUGH (aim) cough

so really mike you make parts a little cheaper, not as good as the others, (which is fine mike calm down) And the part your not understanding mike is all the footwork that you make someone do to get there part right, the time waiting, the emails, the phone calls, THE BULLSHIT.
at your age i know you know exactly what i'm talking about.

it amazes me that your still going and thats not a compliment at all. I read the very first complant years ago and have followed this forever taking everyones opinion with a grain of salt. I do see the people making up stories, but WOW, its like watching a train wreck!
I plan to continue to watch and not buy from you ever. I'm sure just like aim, you will in YEARS get all the kinks out but at what cost? pissing off and screwing over tons of your "scene" neighbors? that sir is called bad business practice, plain and simple.

Theres not any excuse for anything.. where do you get that?

The problem is that your just simply wrong. I have a high percentage of very good parts coming from the shop. the bad thing is nobody reports it all over a forum when they get a bad or not 100% part from someone else. Your opinion is coming from reading all these posts, you said it yourself. that means your have an opinion formed from flawed data.

people dont have to do anymore "footwork" with me than anyone else it just seems that way from your flawed point of view.

I ship parts every day that have no issues, no complaints and are with happy customers right now performing as well or better than parts that cost alot more. Thats a fact that cant be disputed as there is no basis to dispute it.

the only drawbacks to my parts are they are Mig welded, (if thats a flaw then your opinion is wrong there) instead of Tig welded and I use CNC plasma cut plates instead of laser or waterjet cut. (again, not a flaw in my opinion) If you see the new plates I have now you probably cant tell the difference. I definitely use the same DOM tube as everyone else. hell I use thicker than most companies. I use better bushings and thats a 100% fact. Energy Suspension are hands down better than anyone elses bushings.

your guys keep grabbing at straws and nothing is there. Ive answered the same questions over and over for different people and you just dont get it.... its a witch hunt because of BYC going bankrupt.... thats all.

how many very successful businesses are owned by people who went bankrupt before? how many of them bankrupt companies opened back up and made it right?

Im done answering questions over and over, come up with something new. plus nobody answers any of the questions I ask... wtf?
