I think alot was solved. issues were brought up and shot down.
any issue that Ive had with anything Ive solved....
I have done exactly what I said I would do and that is come back after a year and a half and restarted with absolutely nothing. I have gotten in touch with old customers and made BYC deals right.
This is not in dispute. You say it took longer than it should... maybe. BYC closed in April of 2006, DHP opened in January on 2008. Thats 20 months.
but as stated above, "started over with nothing" means just that. Plus I have a family to take care of. I cant do like most people on here and run home and live with momma and daddy till I get back on my feet. I had to work my ass off and to make the funds to buy equipment, tools, materials etc. You would not believe all the materials it takes to make arms. from making jigs to actual finished products it takes alot.
Ive made every part at DHP better than BYC parts. I pay attention to detail and make the best parts I can make and still make them affordable. If I have any issues I solve them immediately. I have a pretty good record with DHP parts. I make parts for so many different vehicles Im probably trying to expand too fast.
I have refined my order process and all other processes from start to finish on arms.
Since I have a fulltime job the time line will be a problem until I go fulltime again. Thats the reason for the lead times being posted on the home page of my website.
the issues raised here, balljoint cups not "up to par" are the old style two piece design. I used to make them two pieces and tig weld them together then turn them again on the lathe. I now make these from one piece, boom, issue solved.
rod end not having threads all the way up.. used to use bolts turned down. now I use studs. boom, issue solved.
balljoint plates with odd or badly shaped holes. CNC plasma will never be as nice as laser so I choose to drill holes now.
boom, issue solved, and these issues have been solved for a while now.
a few tweaks here and there on time lines, shipping and Im good.
so I think this has been good but its run its course since the same old things keep being brought up.
I welcome any comments but I doubt anyone will email me and go back and forth like in here since theres no audience in email.
To sum it all up I make very good affordable parts. I have plenty of pics on my site and every question is answered about materials and processes so the customer knows everything. I accept Paypal to protect the customer and myself.
I go into forums and keep my presence out there for anyone who needs anything. Ive done alot better than I thought I would and DHP has grown faster than I expected. I actually have a help that turns parts for me on Saturdays.
I look forward to going fulltime sometime in 2011.
so whats to bag on me about? nothing. its just that these guys still want to bag on me. turns out I was right and EVERYONE else except for the people who actually know me was wrong. Yes every one of of you who thought I would not be back was wrong. you were all so vocal... where are you now? staying quiet.
I understand, if I were in your shoes Id do the same thing. Id never think someone would come back from that.
But as Ive stated before this is the scene Ive been in since 1987 and Im dedicated to the scene.
I dont think there is much else I can say. you see my parts, buy them if you want, if not then oh well.
Im trying to help the scene. not trying to get rich and be a big baller, never have been.
peace
