thats because we are in totally different markets. here its like its own country.
trust me I have been to many shops small and large. too much manufacturing business here already. people dont have time to mess with small jobs.
the economy problems here are less than any other state in the US. Texas is adding jobs not losing them.
but back to my original point, why buy something I can make myself? I can make it cheaper than anyone and have it the way I want it. so your point is useless in this discussion. I know the local pricing and other specifics and you dont.
not trying to be a dick but this doesnt concern anyone but me. where I get my materials is my choice and mine alone. I make as many pieces as I can. the only balljoint cups I buy are screw in ones.
any issue that comes up with a part I use or make I resolve the way I see fit to the satisfaction of the customer. its been that way since I opened in 1994. Im not a 22 year old kid building parts in my garage. Im 45 years old, been welding for 30 years and been building custom parts for all kinds of cars and trucks since about 1985. Im building parts in a fully equipped shop. I know who to call for anything I need made and I dont need someone on the other side of the country to tell me how to get parts made.
I do appreciate any tips or help and I will choose to use those tips and help as I see fit.
I choose to make affordable parts rather than really expensive parts that the average minitrucker cant afford. thats my choice and its working well for me. I will let someone else build the high end parts.
My customers concerns about the look of balljoint cups is duly noted and I will take it under advisement and take the quality up a notch. Im perfectly capable of making very nice cups on my lathe.
