I see as many older people at Minitruckin Shows acting out as younger people. In fact you see to many people that younger people "look up to" acting out as well. Sets a nice example for them which just breeds the problem so more. Frankly it takes all kinds really. Some people cant seem to have a good time without being destructive, or doing harm to an event or hotel.

Well here is my two cents. I know that some people thatcause trouble at my events hate me because I put the troublemakers on a blackball list. It is not hard to do you, as promoters have to just spend a littlemoney and time to put it together. Everyone that attends our events fills outtheir paperwork and that paper work is checked against our database of problemchildren. This last Reso we had a guy show up and my staff like they do toeveryone ran his info. He came up as a problem child from Reso 1992, that'sright 16 years later. My staff stopped him at the gate I looked at the recordshe had done $500.00 worth of damage back in 1992. I told him I needed $500.00plus a $500.00 deposit for damages he had done and that I needed it in cash. Hesaid that he did not have it so I told him to go home he said he lived 1200miles away. I told him to bad not my problem so he talked to friends at theevent I got my $500.00 for the damages and my refundable $500.00 deposit. Hewas a good boy all weekend he got his deposit back I saw him on Sunday he askedhow I remembered him I told him you F me I never forget.

To do this you need a computer paper work that asks theright questions and wristbands that have numbers on them. This system alsokeeps track of your passengers that are the people that seem to always startShit. This system even helps at the hotels tell all the hotels to use thewristband numbers when they check-in everyone write theirwristband number down. Then if the Hotels have problems report to the promoterthose numbers then issue the warning. I also think we need a promoters group toshare info because if you have people or I have people that cause problems Iwant to know about them that even goes for clubs. Then before they get to yourevent contact that person or club tell them they are on the national blackball list contact them and tell them we are advising them that they or theirclub is not welcomed to our event. I have on my list clubs that are problemsthey don't get in so they fold and go to new clubs but they still asindividuals show up on my list so I talk to their new President and they weed their own herd.

This system also keeps track of your passengers that are the people that seem to always start Shit. Sorry this got long --------------------------------------------- this is the coolest thing i've ever heard of. makes me want to drive out to all of your shows! and sharing the info is a great idea. it makes sense. if i got stuck with a $500 destruction bill that long ago, i don't think i'd every forget about it. and i would sure hope i'd get paid someday. again, i like to have a few beers at a show, but to the people that are just looking to party and not care about the show, or all the hard work it took to make the show happen, just stay home and drink on your couch. alcohol is the cause of too many problems. don't let it be the reason for the end of the scene.

As always I would like to add something of course. My goalat our events is to make sure you as a participant have a great time we alsostrive to make sure your experience is a safe one. We also have to make surethat the communities and facilities we use want us back for future eventsso there is a fine line making sure you have fun but not to the point that theydon't want us back. I'm all for having a few drinks and having a good time butwe draw the line when you start destroying stuff or get out of hand to thepoint that you are not making it fun for the people around you. We will ask youto clam down and if you still act a fool we will take you to the front gatewhere we have a bad boy couch and have you sit for a while to sober up. Becausewe really don't want to see you go to jail or get your ass kick by someone.

I have always said if you want to pick my brain about whatwe do just ask. One thing I do require is bring plenty of nice and cold BudLight and we can chat about what ever you like at least until we run out of Budlight.

I watched Bobs idea work in full effect at last year and it made things alot simpler People seem to know not to fuck around at our shows..... but some still do and they go on the list! lol

I have gotten a few phone calls from people wanting to know how many people are on my list and to see if they are on the list. This is something we do abuse you have to be a major problem to get on the list we do give you a chance with a warning and that seems to solve the problem. I checked my records we have not placed anyone on the black ball list in over 4 years.

this topic takes the cake. Talk about beating a dead horse. When i first started going to truck runs in 1995 people would tell me " You know what Ernie back in the 80's it was nothing like this, this is nothing like the old days back then we didnt get in trouble blah blah blah, young kids this and that blah blah blah" now fast forward to 2010 ten and i hear the same shit, "back in the 90's it was way better, blah blah blah" Everybody is always pointing the finger. The truth is every scene, even the hot rod scene has it fair share of trouble. And you can blame it on the young kids, the videos, the people that are looked up too, whatever but guess what? Youre never going to solve it. The scene is what you make of it. if you as a promoter allow beer at the events then youre going to have to deal with it. On the west coast I think of the Forbidden Fantasy show, its been going for over ten years strong and I think the only fights were about six or seven years ago and they sell a ton of alcohol. The last few truck runs ive been too i havent seen any problems. This includes tex mex and WCN. Back when I was in Forbidden Fantasy in the 90's i remember their would be a few fights an hour at the runs. One time at a run, three or four fights broke out between ST, NC, and FFF just within two hours of each other. Now I see more love. Im done preaching on here, because you know what, we can go back and forth all day and point fingers but whats it going to solve. Imagine this too, back in the day their would be fights and rapes and all kinds of crazy stuff at shows but unless you were there, you didnt hear about it. MT magazine certainly wasnt going to talk about it. But these days with text messaging and cell phones and the internet people talk more. Were basically spreading around the negativity. Instead of harping about all the bad at shows why dont we see theads about all the positive. Like the show for Brad in Vegas, or how blooddrag has contributed who knows how many thousands of liters of blood. Alright im getting of this soap box.......
