^^^^^he is right^^^^^^ at the end of the day have respect for yourself, your friends, promoters, and local show goers and every event will be bad ass and talked about for years to come.

that is very true. technology has changed so many things. i'm sure more people are texting their friends saying, "dude, come upstairs to the hotel room and watch this guy destroy everything in it! lol" instead of, "man, i can't believe all the hard work that went into this show. i'm waking up early so i can be there right when the gates open! i can't wait to shake the promotor's hand and the guys that put the show on." and as soon as the first text goes out about property destruction, it's getting forwarded to hundreds of other people who forward it on to thousands of other people and hundreds of those will post it up on facebook (after they are done with farmville), tweet it, and post about it and how the scene is going down the drain on a few forums.   can't we all just get along and have a damn good time with no problems? lol

this is truly a bunch of CRAP! like Ernie said... it's getting A LOT better over the last couple of years... man if you guys would have been at a river run ten years ago WOW lol let's just say that there WAS A TON OF BAD stuff taking place that none of us would condone at a show nowadays...  Things are changing for the good here, and we need to help promote that and focus on the good rather than the same old dead beat topic that is useless and full of ignorance...

---------------------------------------------Originally posted by BAD_INC---------------------------------------------Originally posted by bagged_02Edited: 2/22/2010 10:26:24 PM by bagged_02Q.  What is your personal opinion on the current state of the scene with us losing so many shows lately?  Why do you think that is?  Can it be repaired?? Any suggestions how?   A. I just had this talk with TC from Slamfest this after noon as I was driving thru Memphis heading back from Havoc KY. It’s fucking sad in the mid to late 90’s we’d be up at 5am and getting in line at Slamfest to get registered, now this next generation is just getting in from drinking at 5am. We were proud to show our trucks, now it’s cool to drink and destroy property. Then run on chat rooms and bitch because shows are gone. You ask what’s the reason shows are disappearing, look in the mirror guys, are you part of the problem or the solution. Repaired, I don’t know; make shows 21 and over, no primer? I really don’t know, but it’s the younger guys doing this. But the more party’in and destroying property, the less shows are aloud back, it’s a sad cycle, look at the big picture... ---------------------------------- I know for a fact it's not always the new generation of mini truckers I personally have seen a ton of older and when I say older I mean 30 and so on as I am only 20. But I have seen plenty of older people starting fights arguments and destroying stuff at different shows and runs. So that comment offends me. I mean there certain individuals out there that do drink and destroy things they HAPPEN to be young but I am willing to bet any amount of money that everyone did something stupid when they were young. I can't even count how many times I've partied with other clubs and them being older they got up later then our club and showed up to the show later. So that comment isn't accurate. I am saying this with all the respect in the world because I know what you do for our scene and how hard you work at it. Now with the security that's always a great idea cause there's always gonna be a problem when you get that many people in one place young or not. ---------------------------------------------If you believe it is not the younger people causing the majority of the problems I would suggest you attend a GoodGuys show or a Street Rod Nationals event. The demographic is primarily older (over 30) and the you do not see the issues minitruck events have even though everyone there has a beer in their hand all day. --------------------------------------------- did i say it was the older people causing the majority NO i said ive seen plenty of older people causing problems. if you wouldve read it then you wouldve known what i said. good guys is not even close to being the same as one of our shows or even a run they are totally different ther atmosphere and the rides ALL DIFFERENT. there maybe a few things the same but not everything.

i love you too Bob.. Ernie u SUK.. Havoc, yeah no one missed it more then me man i put ALL i had in to that show, 3 stops coast to coast, put Blooddrag AND Payback on the back burners for that show tour then the suites just cut it, broke my heart..........   BUT Blooddrag, Aug.13th, 14th & 15th @ Lampkin Park in Bowling Green KY, the old havoc dates, more to come after Blooddrag GA, SO mark your calenders now!!!!  BACK TO THE POST. Ernie is right, there is a lot of possitive things that have come out from the love of mini trucks and i will ALWAYS owe at least 1 mini Toyota, i have since 91...the post started from something immoture from a younger customs automotive fan. BUT Leading by example is the way to go. now the question again, ARE YOU leading by example. I am, please let me me know if anyone has pix, police report, artist sketch, video of me drinking and smashing stuff at a hotel. a hotel that gave me a discount NOT to come trash it, but to have a place to sleep while enjoying a car show... I will always NOT see eye to eye with other people in this scene because i am set a side from this topic because it has affected me a number of times, thousands and thousands of dollars in damages.  AND there is only a hand full of people ( other show promoters )  that can understand where i am coming from and how it feels. You work hard, bust ur ass to put on a kickass event and the Monday after, you have $4,500 in damges and the first thing on the forums is how much fun party'in at the hotel was NOT damm that show was great... This was the case with havoc 06 AND Blooddrag Anderson 2008. Iit just sux for people like me, Bob, TC, Jeff and all the other show promoters. You can go to ALL THE SHOWS, RUNS, CRUSIN'S you want, BUT when you take on the roll of promoter it changes a little. it's like your baby, you gave birth to and someone slapped the shit out of it, or knocked it down...   OH and by all means feel free to put on your own show if you haven't done one, then hit me or Bob up that Monday, you'll know exacly what we meant.. BUT on the positive side, yes i owe friendships for life thanks to my obsetion with Toyota trucks. I have friends i have known for 10, 15 almost 20 years now. TC, Big John, Frank from Reds, Jimmy from Dayona, then people i have meet who i know, admired and was a fan of years before meeting them, Bob Hase, Mike Finnagen, Travis Noack, Bob Ryder, Bob Grant, Bill from TX, Aaron Iha. i got to make friends with guys i'll be friends with for ever now, Ernie and my NR fam, Mike Alexander, Dan ward, Low Life Mike, i use to hate Low Life, he caused so much stress for me years back, but having lived with him in anaheim for a couple of years, man i miss that drunk midget everyday, EVERYDAY. friends for life man... The bonds i have gotten over the years of being a mini trucker justt fuel my rage when shit goes on and affects the scene. i take it more personal. this is a life long passion, a hobby and a job for me, its' my life, not a party for the weekend...  well i think i lost my point, started dazin of thinkin about all this stuff.. you won't get all the crap i just said above, but as long as i understand, it's cool.. i am entitled to have my opinions and i always will. but i don't makethem up, i use things that have happend to make my calls...  Thanks guys for being part of this thread, see you next week...

Very well put! You really dont know what a beast a show can be until you run one. changed my views towards shows and the people who run them. Hats off to all that do it and have done it more than I have. And for those who dont believe Eddy or myself call John Dunn he took on his first show last year and saw it wasnt for him. He will gladly tell you......   I still consider myself a rookie at doing shows and I run 3 with 7 years doing it. I learn more and more each time I do one but I still love doing it just to see people having a great time and forgetting about everything else for the weekend no matter what kind of vehicle there is involved.
