---------------------------------------------Originally posted by AZ ARTWORXgot my jig done its a lot of cutting i know and i'm sure that there are a lot of better ways to do it but everyone needs to think of who i am and i do things for reasons ---------------------------------------------Just curious becuase I know nothing about building frames but I gues you just cut slots so far apart, then form it the way you want the rail to go and weld it back up? Is it just as strong or strong enough I guess. Seems pretty sweet and I always wondered how people had curved frames and not classic notches.thanks and it looks awesome

yeah i understand but in my opinion a 2x3 x 3/16 mandrel rails is way more then strong enough there would be no reason to brace it internally. i use alot of 3/16 and alot of .120 2x3 all my rails are pno material. not saying what your doing is wrong because it is looking like it will work. just seems labor intesive.

well i didn't want to do bent rails i do have a plan. i have had good luck with all my ideas. if you guys feel like it you could check out my myspace page its az art or jimmy red i havent had a failure yet. yes sometimes there is an easier way and my ways are not conventional or they wayt its been done before but i've never had a problem with the finish product. don't get me wrong i do appreciate the positive comments and suggestions. hey andy you bodywork was really nice on the mitsu i wish more people brought me quality work like that to go over. most of the time everything i get is a mess.

It reminds me of a "Slinkie" frame rail. Way too much welding and grinding for me, but I'll wait and see how it turns out when it's done.

We did a couple sections on my frame like how you are doing. On a few inches of the rail.  I hate all that welding and grinding though.  It sucks when you start sweating rust.
