I'd like to point out that most charter buses have a kneeling function that adjusts the frt suspension more than 3 inches, 18 wheelers, most luxury cars (Cadillacs, Navigators, some expeditions, etc etc) have a rear leveling device that will adjust the height of the rear to compensate for heavy loads. Ever seen a towncar tucking tire in the rear? Some parts of their ride leveling system has failed...and the rear mounted airbags are no longer operating. Saying that all suspension that can be adjusted more than 3 inches from the cab is ludacris. I've been sitting next to a cop at a red lights 3 inches off the ground and lifted to turn right next to him an wasn't pulled over. Maybe the rules and regulations are different where y'all live...but in Texas I've never been pulled over or ticketed for my BD truck. If anything it's gotten me out of a ticket, and a lesser fine on another. Both times I was pulled over the officer spent 5-10 minutes asking me about my truck. This guy obviously was doing something wrong to piss off either his neighbors or the cops. There's definitely more to the story. I can't find the picture...but I actually took a picture of my truck layed out at a gas station surrounded by 5 cops getting gas. I got gas, lifted it, left the gas station, and adjusted it to my ride height once on the road. No issues what so ever!!

Like it was said before it had clearly been parked for a long time in the same spot with all the trash under it. That and it looks like shit parked in the street in different colors and missing pieces. I'd want it towed if it was in my neighborhood too. I'm not saying this just because I hate minitrucks either. Since it seems that most of them are always half primer, missing pieces, and looking like shit wherever they are parked.

There is a raggedy ass S10 that looks about the same sitting in my neighbors driveway. I wish there was something we could do as a neighborhood to get that thing gone. They even have a 2 car garage that is empty but they won't put it in there. To me it helps to make the whole neighborhood look bad. It's right on the corner of my dead end lane. It's bad when the easiest directions I can give to my house are to turn at the POS minitruck.

If the problem was fixed, then why the bright orange sticker still on the windshield? Looks like the owner was looking for trouble.
But all we see is what is in the video, we don't know the whole story.

And no matter what, someone will argue with logic.

If you can adjust your suspension more than 3" from the cab while driving, your truck is illegal... federally. end of story.

--------------------------------------------

Wow, then 18 wheeler are illegal because they get more than 3" of travel and some can control their leveling systems manually

These would all have some sort or commercial license plate on them. commercial and farm plates have some leeway in the laws because they may be modified to do a specific job.

In this situation i've never seen a situation where the driver could directly control the height of the suspension without modifying the vehicle. I have seen vehicles that will raise and lower a car based on a sport/off road setting but it is preset and computer controlled. what happens when a coil spring fails?

Well I guess my truck was illegal...even though it was registered and inspected...and pulled over twice and not ticketed for this illegalness. Guess I dodged a bullet for 22,000 miles huh. Lol. So does several 100 other people I know that drive bagged trucks on a daily basis. I think someones full of shit...

another thing... its not always the cops being jerks, the owner's neighborhood looked pretty nice so there may be an old man that hates looking at it on the street no matter what and could call the cops every day about it and then the cops finally budge and decide to do something with it.. i have an old man in my neighborhood that does the same thing but i park in my driveway he just hates me but its all good... i know multiple cops and heck a couple of em are even minitruckers so its not always a cop bein a dick just keep that in mind

Ok, this is my truck and I posted the video. Here is everything

The truck wasn't there for 30 days, it stays parked there most of the time because its right outside my bedroom window. (I live on a corner lot). The officer tried to say it was, but I have proof it wasn't plus it wasn't even in the same place where it was stickered. The registration was out in December, but I got it done the day it was stickered.

Yes it was tagged one other time and I got a ticket. It was tagged due to it being "abandoned", I drove it to the police station and talked to the same officer and he apologized and that was the end of that. I don't mind educating officers or anyone about custom vehicles. The time i got a ticket was due to it being parked to close to the stop sign in my front yard, it was 29' 10" from it and it needs to be 30 ft. Even though people parked there almost on a daily basis since 1995 when I bought my house, and NO ONE has been ticketed for it, I negotiated the ticket down to 5 bucks and moved on.

So this time it had 3 things on the sticker.
1. registration (that was taken care of asap, working 72+ hour weeks and it slipped my mind)
2. there for more than 30 days. It was not, it was at a Custom Sounds in Austin just a few days before the sticker was put on, so I have no idea wtf they are talking about there, not to mention it wasn't even in the same place they put the sticker on it.
3. Body on the ground, hmmmmm I didn't know this was illegal.

I got a ride to the tow yard and DROVE it off the truck and back home after paying the 180ish for towing it. They have no idea why the cop is being a dick about it all.

So this is all BS, I have a tow hearing this Thursday and we shall see how that goes. I will have notarized letters from a few people at Custom Sounds stating it was there on a certain day so we shall see how that goes.

One thing that I find funny this is the same officer that I talked to about it the first time it was tagged and we B.S. for a bit and he told me that the stop sign that used to be on the other side of the neighborhood was illegal. Perhaps I should mention in court that the officer told me that. :)
