Would work just fine. Only problem is it would runn whenever your engine is running. Or you would have to figure out how to attach an electric clutch to it from an A/C unit.

im going today and looking to see if they have sandens or yorks for other vehicles.

Its kinda funny, I wonder if im the only one this happens to, but everytime I read a thread on edc's I get very little info from it because it branches out into a million other q's. I think it would be nice if someone that knows quite a bit on edc's from a/c pumps should do a tech write up on it, and then let ?'s be asked and answered.

Im confused whether a york or sanden is prefered, where to find it.

i finally got on today. its from a 89 jetta but its the 508. it didn't come with a bracket so ill probably have to make one. and i would like a tech also but so far what i did was just search the site and take notes and am 90% clear on what i have to do but not 100%. theres 2 wires coming from my clutch that are tan/brown with a blue strip and a green one, which is + and -?

could someone measure the bracket for the ac pump where the actual pump mounts to the bracket. I was wondering if i could just get a b2200 (or B2000 if the same bolt patern) bracket and have the jetta SD508 mount to it?

If you got the sd508 pump i am about 85% sure it would just use the stock a/c bracket.

I just picked up a sanden 708 thanks to cussers information it didnt take nothing to get this beast off. Its in great shape and the bearings feel in very good shape.

Whats the best way get fittings on the back of these so I can run my oiler and line.... I see most people tap them to npt fittings.

phoned a auto parts store and they don't carry the bracket and i was told best bet is a autowrecker. is there anyother way of connecting the lines without tapping???
