well a true cantilever set up dosen't have anything to do with your 4 link.. its just a way of mounting the bags. Unless u do bag over bar... and in that case u can't go side to side. From my understanding. I wish Mike White would step in here and show some bitches what time it is.. cause he's a freakin GENIOUS when it comes to this stuff. So PM him and ask him to step up in here.

I'll PM him and ask for his opinion, whats his name on here?
"SSM" seem to believe that the top link bars when welded behind the axle will cause the driveshaft to pull out.

So what about all those 50/50 systems all over the place? the half and half 4 link drawings that Baha made up?

I'm lost now...

I'm not sure why but it seems that most people believe just because the links are mounted behind the axle it automatically means the drive shaft will be pulled out of the transmission, anyone who has pulled a drive shaft to work on your transmission you know it can move a little forward or backward in the tail shaft. Although pulling out of the driveshaft can happen if it is set up wrong, that statement is not entirely accurate. I have some free time at work so Ill draw some diagrams showing their reasoning and how it can be fixed. If you have any questions about something you read on a forum test it out for your self man because you never know if someone has experience or not, and there is no replacement for first hand experience.

A Little off Topic but related to the previous posts about the Tri 4 link here is a diagram of a no bind tri 4 link, instead of having the end links of the top links at opposite angles of each other and different from the lower bar endlinks entirely, all links ends are at the same angle thus creating no binding.

^ as compared to

But this way will also work and installed this way on many vehicles.

So i could create this type of suspension setup, or buy it myself, the only problem being does it have and side side movement (sway)? and also does it feel lose when driving?

I originally didn't want to put the bags on the axle. still really don't...

but now revers keeps looking less and less appealing, though i still like the look sof it... now the functionality doesn' look so promising...

You can still do reverse man, I have read theories on how it hurts breaking performance but I have never seen anyone actually test it and record data like a video.
All of the setups we have been talking about keep the axle in place between the frame rails also.

If you like a bouncy ride, put your bags on the axle.

If you like a soft smooth ride put the bags on the bar.

sorry I still havn't had time to finish the diagrams but I promise Ill post them up soon maybe before the end of the weekend.

If you want reverse, do reverse

Hey, thats prolly been the most helpful thing said for me
I'd still like to learn more about the other setups too. SUPER loving the drawings Baha, they really are helpful. Paint =1 Photoshop = 0

I didn't know anyone actually made them this way but I had to share it, This is a Tri 4 link kit from SuicideDoors.com

my drawing

And you can run a reverse link if all your bars are equal.. upper are the same length of the lower bars. Just more work, design and enginering goes into making a reverse 4 work.. and no offence.. but if your asking basic questions as to how they work.. maybe the more complicated ways aren't so good for your first one.

The problem w/ the diagrams and pics your showing are setup for s10s.. yes they are PERFECTLY designed.. however the ends on a normal 4 link from suicidedoors.com come perpendicular to the bars.

On another note.. the internet does good and bad things for our industry. The positive is it brnigs people from all over the world together and sharing of ideas, designs, and parts. However there is the ugly side of it, giving anyone who can do a little reasearch or asking a few questions lead them to believe that seriously customizing their vehicle is accomplishable. And seriously not trying to be mean.. but not all people should be doing this. Just because you bagged out your truck and aren't having problems, dosent warrent you the "skills" to bag others as well. I know some of you differ in oppinion.. but i just don't want this part of the subject to go unnoted.
