not yet I wantedto get some real progress pics up, gotta weld up the firewall and tubbing, and seal it too, I just finished sandblasting and getting all the bare metal rust treated on the underside of the cab, evapo-rust, treated overnight, and today washed then blasted some more, and then permatex neutraliser sprayed on, I'm gonna roll the rocker pinch weld too.
hopefully some primer and sealer / rock guard tomorrow

Sounds like you got a great plan for the underside of the cab! Wish i could have gotten that far on either one of the trucks here but oh well. I can see where having the cab laying on it's back can certainly make the finally weld up process a LOT easier than what I did - getting welding splatter down the back of your shirt really sucks LOL. Anyway, good luck on the sealing and undercoating today.

looking great man. i have one question, i didn't go through the whole topic or anything so you may have covered it already and i know you said you had to dial it in but why are your wheels so badly toed in? i looked at page 8 real quick to see if you said something about it and they looked straight on that page but now they are really pointed inward. just wondering why that was. i love the pic of you with your kid man. i have a pic at home with my oldest daughter holding a rachet and "helping" me work on my car when she was 2. haha.

Thanks Linn, its a bit of overkill for sure, but I expect to use this for promoting my small business so it has to last, I expect to be able to drive over mirrors, and see a perfect finish for years to come, this much work , lets just say I dont wanna do it twice, I think I will be doing some air brushing in there too, just need a theme.......
my website,
Ryan, thanks fer the props, I remember the pics ya posted yer photobucket link to, that was a long time ago now. I gues we both been on here fer a few years, lol.
Nice to have a few family men on here, Ryan, Linn, Toddluck, and many more.
I turned 30 in January, but I am not too old to keep this up. lol
Oh the camber I wanna tweak, the toe is just cuz I slid the frame accross the floor, lol the steering is not hooked up to the spindles, lol

here is a pic with the rust neutraliser / converter on, it cured overnight, now I can scuff and prime.

Okay here is a pic, days of sandblasting, and grinding cutting and welding, ......................

well it seems photobucket has gone to crap, I cant post the img code , it wont let me right click and paste???

okay so I got something done today,
Some old school metalwork, hands and hammers, I formed monster sheet metal filler panels, 14 gauge!
and tacked them in,
They are not perfectly smooth cuz I wasnt gonna waste time hammering them out perfect just to have them hidden totally anyways, with rubberised rocker guard on top you will never see where I stretched the steel.
And never mind the runs and imperfections in the primer / neutraliser, I wanted it soaked into every nook and cranny , and again it will never be seen, I got plans to finish it all nicely, not giving away any details you will have to follow the progress to see what I got planned, it will be good I promise.........
thread post photo

found where photobucket img codes will let you copy them , only after ya click on them to see the larger size then on the left the codes are listed, its a sucky change I wish they would leave it alone

oh yeah , and I rolled the pinch welds too,
I dont like the look from the side with em stickin down, I always hated that, if peeps painted em black it'd be okay but when the truck is a bright color and ya have this "fin" stickin out it looks like an amateur paint job, or a missed detail, ya know?
No offence to those out there that didnt adress that , just how I feel about it, and after 15 years of obsessing over these trucks, its just something that always bothered me,
I dont suggest cutting them off!!!!!!!
Its a major structural point in the design of the cab, if it doesnt fall apart when ya cut it , if yer ever in an accident ,...... it will be very bad.
There is a way of shaving them off, but its a longer proccess and you have to be a great welder to pull it off, and you need a long metal brake................

I shaved my gutters without removng the structural welds there.
