no i mean i cant tell where the hell its coming from. like i was saying its not a sound, but when its starts doin it the whole truck shakes so bad i cant pinpoint where to start. and yes i checked the u bolts. i dont think its the rearend or suspension related cause its not doing it all the time after up to speed it does fine until coming to a stop. and it does under a load or not under a load. im thinking maybe trans but like i said i dont wanna pull it out to be wrong, thought id bounce some ideas off everyone first.

it really couldnt be the tranny cause it doesnt do it in the same gear, just at a certain speeds......right?
midnightcamaro   +1y
right, but arent most the gears on the same shaft? well at least 2nd and 3rd anyways? what about clutch related. when i put the clutch in awhile back it had some springs popped out of it but i think the pilot bearing is what failed first. it had came apart. but everything else seemed fine at the time.

i wonder if the bolts on either the clutch or the flywheel or any in that area are loose causing the slow vibration through the drivetrain.

when you swapped drive lines I wonder if it's jammed into the tranny too far. mine was lowered on 3" blocks, and only main and helper leaf..... so around 4 1/2-5" lower and I never had any issues.

I would double check the blocks are seated into the alignment pins on the springs and axle. But with the shaking I'm more out to say a u-joint is binding in a bad way

what about the rear mount on the tranny make sure its tight, and grab a hold of the drive line on either side of the carrier bearing and see what it has for play

ya 15-20 isnt really fast enough to cause the wheels to shake that bad. . I wouldn't think. . I know I couldnt go over 55 in my Pup when the wheels were off balance cuz it would shake so hard but i don't think thats your problem. . you tried pushin and pullin on each wheel while it was jacked up to see if there was any play? ? ?

I dont see how it could be a gear problem if it does it with clutch engaged or disengaged. .

loose pressure plate maybe. . Can you stick somethin in the inspection hole and push on it? ? ?

well i wondered that but they should all be tight they got red locktite and i know they were tight. i looked at the pressure plate bolts through the hole and they looked like they were good, but didnt actually put a rachet on em.

i was sayin like a screwdriver or somethin. . Jus so you can push on it and see if it moves. . And i guess it would shake pretty bad if the pilot bushing broke. . . And ridin on a bad u joint may have caused enough stress to break it. . I dunno though. .
