you ppl act like i don't want to learn how to weld, and don't want to learn how to do it properly. i want to i just can't afford a EFFIN 10,000.00 DOLLER COURSE. if one of you want to pay for it i'll gurentee that it won't look like this. i think i have a great additude towards it i want to build up a truck and make it perfect in my eyes. and really i wish ppl would read and not just look at the pic. it clearly says my buddy(proffesional welder) is going to be redoing the welds, dammit so lay off the crap welds i know they suck. get past this it's gettin old frig

ok im trying to be nice here , but if you think you need a 10k course to learn how to weld , your crazy. buy a decent 220volt wire feed welder with a CO2 bottle($1300CDN for a miller or lincoln setup) and practice. get your buddy to come over and show you the basics as far as metal prep and welder settings. its really not that hard at all. noone taught me to weld, i just practiced alot and asked the right questions

i only talked about the course cause someone told me to take a course, i don't have 1300 to go and buy that thus "project no budget", ive asked lots of questions on this site and other and ppl always fel the need to crap on me for asking "dumb" questions

i dont think its so much the "not so sure" work thats going into this as it is your attitude towards all the criticism your getting. you want to know whats to far gone, your way in over your head on that bed, that thing is so cut up, i highly doubt that thing will ever be complete or useable again. and the welds on the notch, your weight jumping up and down isn't compairable to the stress of driving/breaking conditions. best of luck to you with this project and i hope to see you atleast learn something out of this truck. my only suggestion would be to do a lot more research and reading, theres plenty of how-to's and info on the endless internet. and maybe some pratice with the right tools on some scrap metal first.

no my friend your ignorant for not reading and seeing that the welds are being redone get past it if it passes a vi it must be safe

Lol I seen the notch the day he posted and just exited out of the thread. I Wasn't going to start a flame war again.

This seems like another bag and stretch type ordeal here, no matter what your telling this guy isn't going to work. Because he has it in his head hes right.

Seriously, redo that notch. It looks haggard as hell, I can care less how cheap you got the truck. That gives you no right to skimp out or sugar coat a "budget build"
