OK so its wed and I haven't updated in a couple days, my schedule has been busy but I did fit in some time to work on the truck just didn't have time to do an update. I got the templates built and got them yesterday (thanks to my dad), and I'll be welding them in asap. I finished stripping the body and am ready to lift it off the frame that will be done tomorrow when I can get some help. after that, just a little more clean up and time to start modifying this thing, and rebuilding the motor!! so as usually I've taken more pics so here they are.

engine bay is empty and ready to take the body off.

Once the re-enforcement templates are welded in to place I'll be picking out the hinges that I am going to be using for the tilt bed, and then making the cross member at the end of the frame with the attached hinges.

Finally the body is off the frame, not much left to take strip... plans are to finish stripping the frame. remove motor/trans. remove any bracketing I don't need paint frame with POR15 and start re-building the motor.
the re-build will include:
Weber carb
pacesetter headers
new timing belt
water pump
and a full gasket set

Here's a pic of the frame with just the motor attached.... the picture sucks but Ill add a better one when I have better lighting.

I will soon have some parts for sale including all the AC parts, heater core housing from under the dash, and the bench seat...I'm sure ill have more to add including the stock carb a little later on... so let me know if you need a part I'm selling. ill have pics of all those parts probably this weekend.

WOW! You have quite a project going. I like your step-by-step pictures! Very detailed. I can tell you are going to have a very nice finished product! Keep updating!

been extremely busy... unfortunately not on the truck lately.. i was able to get a little done disassembling some more of the engine... I cant wait till this whole disassembling part of the project is done and I can start to build it back up. but as always every ones input helps with motivation... Ive spent quite a bit of time out in my cold ass garage taking this thing apart. anyways here's a couple of pics of the engine as is... I should have it lifted off the frame this week so I can finish cleaning off the frame get it coated in POR-15 asap, clean the motor, replace all the gaskets, paint the motor, and get it back in.

Frame is completely stripped of everything except the front tires and suspension parts (ill have pics soon).... I should be ordering my notch kit on Monday and I'm now realizing that with the drive shaft out and the rear axle out, I'm not sure where the axle will end up when the truck is lowered down.... so here's my question if anyone knows off hand... what is the distance from the end of the frame to start the notch so that the axle is centered in the notch when lowered? ... I'm sure i can throw the drive shaft back in and the axle back in to figure it out... but if anyone knows that would save me some time. here is a pic of the notch kit, I'll be ordering from FBIrides.com thanks

i don't have an answer to your question. but i offer some advice, don't order from FBI Rides. Search this forum and some other forums about them, and you will find mostly bad things about them. It doesn't sound like the hassle is worth it when ordering from them.

I Second that , they arent answer calls, emails bad idea man

thanks for the advice... looked more in to them and deff. didn't hear good things... any one have any suggestions for a good place to order from?? I'm still new to this mini truck scene and not sure where to go for parts and what not... kinda taking everything one step at a time.
