I have two Mazdas, both with 2600 'stones on the rear. One is bag over axel and one is bag on bar. I feel they ride about the same. I run the bag over axel set-up with a lot less pressure, but all being said I find them to be equal. The bag on bar set up would get more lift, but they have the same Bilstein shocks. This makes the lift the same. I will say that with the bag on bar set-up locked up, it has a better ride. This point is lost because I run my trucks as low as possible when driving.

Just my opinion but go with the bag on axel setup. This is your first mini build so it would be the easiest and result in a smoother ride at a lower psi. Oh and I'm not sure of your suspension setup knowledge but if you are new with settin up a four link do some reserch on properly setting one up. It will make your truck drive much nicer. Books on racing suspension design are a good place to find info on this.
Looks like the project is comin along good though keep up the good work.

true, as this is your first set up go with bag over setup, like you said your going to ride low, so the ride will be soft and if you ever need to move a bunch of drunk friends at a show you will be able to throw them in the back and drive off

I read a forum on this site from a while back and it seems like a 4 link can be quite complicated to set up correctly rather then just throwing it in. I didnt read the whole thing beginning to end but there was quite a bit about the angles of the drive shaft, so ill be sure to read more on that subject before I tackle that one... thnks for the heads up though.

not an important post.. I'll have a better one tonight... but I did get a great price on a two drawer tool box from craftsman...$25 on clearance... so I mounted it under my welding cart.... its not a big welder but it does everything I need it to.
