Yes, with the factory Kia upper plenum, the hood will not clear in it's stock location. I think Lysol added some spacers to his, but I don't know the out come.

anyway you could use an intake from say a BP engine or something?

Nope hood doesnt clear. Not just the intake but the plu on the tps as well. Heres a pic of my hood rake

If someone wanted to they could cut out some of the hood bracing so as to make it sit lower which i may do at some point. This was a kindof temp to get it together thing that i will clear up in the near furure

And im not sure about switching the plenum. I know some people with rb20's and 25's weld a plate over the tb hole and put it on the end of the mani instead so it doesnt cross over.

I have seen this swap in person done by silentdawn and his hood cleared fine. Maybe he dropped his motor mounts down? too my knowledge the intake and everything was factory and untouched.

Really. Ive spoken alot with him via email about this swap. He has been extremely helpful to me. We didnt however discuss the intake/ hood clearance. Im not sure what he did there. My original plan was botched by the b2200 design. On other swaps ive done the engine mounted to the cross member and i was able to shim it down to create needed clearance (my rb 240) this has frame mounts and i didnt want to cut and lower them but in sure that is an option and in reality wouldnt be that hard. It would also lower the center of gravity. But would also minimize what little clearance there is with the oil pan and the cross member etc. Im not sure how he went about that but in my case after mounting in factory location the hood wouldnt close so i put the spacers in for a temp fix till i decide what i want to do about it for a long term fix as it would be nice to have a flush mounting hood.
