176,XXXkm on the truck (~110,000miles)

man i want to know so badly i think i'm gonna get my flashlight and go change it right now haha....
i will post up results if i do

preliminary results say the fuel filter was clogged

changed fuel filter in the snow, took truck out for a (quick) run, and no hesitation up to 70km/h.. over the course of quite a few blocks... i will test a faster road during the day when roads aren't so slick but i think that totally fixed my problem. a $7 fuel filter.

some of what came out

what it looked like AFTER i blew out everything i could, look at all the gunk still in there!

i'm SUPER happy right now, pretty sure this is fixed now

Bro you have to get your gas tank flushed out as that crap in your filter is probably al in the botom of your tank and is going to make your new filter do the same thing clog up fast.

yeah likely... it kind of sucks hahaha...
i hope it's not too much money

although from the looks of it, it's likely rust in the tank

i got this truck as a beater, it'll pretty much stay that way :p

even if i have to keep replacing the filter at least it's around $7cdn each time, and easy to do, so that's not really a big deal anyway....

confirmed, fuel filter.

i may check the tank in the spring now, if i have to change the fuel filter again when i do that it's no big deal but after a bit of driving the new filter doesn't look rusty, so if there was rust in the tank i don't think it's too much... maybe it was all gummed up in the filter and i don't have too many worries

Update,
Last night after getting gas my truck lost major power and started hesitating again. Not sure what it was but the problem is worse then before. Opened it up on the highway and it seemed to get a lot better. I changed my fuel filter not so long ago and it still looks clean, but the truck did sit for a long time. I'm beginning to think the carb may be gummed up or have some debris in it somewhere. Might pay to have it rebuilt as that's one thing I'm nervous of doing on my own. It was excedeingly cold last night. Maybe that had something to do with it??

Jesse what year is your tuck? My filter is on the firewall in my 88 but what if there is more than one??
jesse   +1y
mine's an '89
there should only be 1 fuel filter in the truck... not sure why yours and mine are different... is yours a canadian model?
