More updates on the trailer, sorry I forgot to post these earlier.
I ground down the welds, and smoothed off a lot of the rougher areas on my plates, then threw some quick enamel on them.

I did get the bed mounted to the frame itself.

Here is the bullet hole that Will thinks is a 38spl, I disagree as my 38spl ammo would go through the entire bed and hit the tree 20 feet away. Maybe it was a wadcutter? who knows

Here is a rust hole that was covered up by the bed liner, nothing too bad (the first one I worked on was in far worse shape, too bad I don't get to use it )

Nice progress emjay, you get this thing on the road yet?

no I never did get the RF motor to work, it costs too much money to get the injector pump rebuilt. After a friend passed away, I inhereted 2 of his vehicles. One is my 2.3-16 powered 190, the other was his 2.5 turbo 300D. I can get the title a lot easier for the 190 as it is an 86 vintage, but the 90 is proving to be a lot more difficult. So I decided to scrap the 300 after I took out all of the goodies. Guess what is going into Redemption

Damn just read the whole thread emjay nice work man and I hope the 300 is going to be going soon.

as weather permits I shall get to the swapping. My shop is outdoors so I am victim to the elements. I would have LOVED to have retained the 300 as a daily driver and sell my Civic, but there was just far too much work to do on it. The fuel tank needs to come out, the vacuum lines need to be completely rerouted, the entire AC setup was toast, wiper motor didn't work well when cold, the central locking system didn't lock one of the doors, massive body work on 3 sides, worn brakes, and the list goes on and on. The injector pump repairs and mods are much easier on the benz motor, and it is already turbo from the factory. My tank is in good condition, and I won't have to worry about the fuel gauge working. I'll figure the other stuff out, like implementing the Benz gauges, plumbing for the accessories, mounts and driveshaft.

So I started the tear down of Redemption, again, in anticipation for the 5cyl diesel. I have to disconnect all the lines that are on the transmission and the engine, then pull it out. We've all been there before and done it so I won't bore y'all with step by step pictures.

I also relocated the position of the main fuel filter and the electric lift pump. With the bed removed, it was an easy process. It started raining so I had to stop.

Pics of where I am at currently:
Radiator, oil cooler, and fuel filter removed.

Fuel filter and pump relocated to the rear:

Ok learned the atx gear ratios on the benz transmission.

1st gear 4.25:1
2nd gear 2.4:1
3rd gear 1.48:1
4th gear 1:1
Reverse 5.14

source:

M519 Mazda stock 5spd
1st 3.622:1
2nd 2.186:1
3rd 1.419:1
4th 1:1
5th .858:1

"

So for what I am seeing, the ratios are pretty close to each other for what was stock on the truck versus what is in the automatic, minus the lack of an overdrive on the 722.4. I might be better off using the IRS if I plan to use it more for fuel efficient trips and such, and keeping the solid axle if I were to decide to use it more as a truck for towing and such. Seeing as I don't have a need to do a lot of heavy towing and such, I'm still likely to do the IRS versus the solid axle. Maybe I'll leave it so I could put in the solid axle (have an adapter for the drive shaft made) if I ever need to go 'stumpin'

Well I didn't like how I had mounted the fuel filter and fuel pump, so I redid it. In the process I found a fuel leak on one of the hard lines, I had welded too deep and there was a pinhole leak. Doesn't matter, I was going to remove that section anyways with the OM602, but it does answer some previous questions. How I missed it before, I don't know.

I also removed all the AC stuff on the front of the engine and the power steering lines. I am going to be using the MB accessories.

looks better man u gonna sell the power steering stuff

The pump will be for sale, the mount is broken and I will still need the gearbox/lines. I'm only using the MB pump with the Mazda gear. The AC compressor will also be for sale, it worked last time the truck did, and I might have accidentally sprung a freon leak in it's removal.
