Well Emjay, I have been hard at work getting my Mustang ready for the Supra swap.

I'm trying to get everything perfect so if the swap goes south it won't be because I had a crappy car.

Anyway, the Supra guy doesn't want the aftermarket bucket seats, but the factory original. No problem, I've got those.

So I get to keep the bucket seats, and where do you think I'm going to put them???????????

Well guys this is it. Tomorrow my 65 Mustang will head out for the swap for the Supra.

I will definitely post pics when I get her.

Please pray for me that everything goes as planned.

Thanks.

Well I will pray for you. Not sure if I will be praying for it to go south or not

Thanks for the prayers, but the deal went south anyway.......

Well, here is the whole story.

I ask a guy who had a car listed on Ebay if he would be interested in a trade for one of my cars, and left my phone number.

Well, he called back, and we talked about both cars. I sent him several pictures of my car, and he of his.

He had an extra hood that I wanted so the deal was that I would pay for shipping both ways, and an extra hood that I had that fit my car. He also ask if I would change the seats in my car to stock, and have the front windshield changed as I told him it did have a scratch. Which I did.

Well, as the deal got closer to being final, he ask if I still had the side louvers for my Mustang as they had the Shelby side windows. I told him I would trade for a Momo steering wheel that he had for his car.

Then I ask him for some confirmation that he was actually going to trade the car after I did all of this, as I was the one taking all of the risk.

We just about canceled everything at that point as he said I have his word that they would give half of the shipping money back if they backed out of the deal.

I told him that wasn't good enough, so he finally sent the money Wed three days before the trade was to take place, which wouldn't be enough time to send to my bank so I ended up just sending it to my driver via PP as I figured they couldn't put a stop on the money if the other guy decided to get shitty.

Anyway my driver takes my Mustang the whole ten hour trip up to Indiana. I told my driver to call them when he got close so they might meet him at a local Walmart or such so it would save him some difficult driving down tight little back roads.

NO they said the deal was to drive all the way to their house, which he did, and got lost because their address didn't come up on the GPS, or Google maps.

When my driver got there he said the guy look like he was rich, with a mile long paved driveway, and a mansion. Well the guy was all over my car with a fine tooth comb. And, this is on a 65 Mustang that has one several best of show awards at various car shows. He said the trunk lid didn't sit flat, and that there was a ding on the paint here, and on and on.

Well the dumbass sits in the car in the 14 deg weather, and tried to crank it. My driver said he did a WTF when he heard the Holley electric pump come on in the back. Then he flooded it. The engine wouldn't start, and the deal was over.

After that it was done.

I will NEVER fucking do anything like that again. Hell, I don't even think I will ever even try to see any of my cars as there are just too many idiots out there.

Sorry to hear things went the way they did. I guess secretly I would have hoped that you would keep the Mustang but never would I have wanted you to go thru what you did, mentally and financially. If the guy knew anything about older cars I would have hoped he would have understood starting a high performance carbed car in 14 degree weather would not be the easiest thing. Even with proper care and tuning.
