They look great!

Thanks. Their very comfortable as well.

Now I was in the process of color sanding an buffing when yesterday I got a piece of hot steel that came in under my protective glasses, and into my right eye.

So today I think the wool flying off from the buffer might have made it worse so I sat this one out. It really sucked since this was a nice day.

That sucks mtrain I have had My right eye drilled out because of metal, definitely no fun. Hope you feel better.

Sounds like you need better goggles. I hope you feel better fast. Wash them out really well. Dan

Well Dan..........yesterday the pretty weather got the best of me.

I went outside, picked up my power buffer {the one that I'm waiting for the speed control unit from Harbor Freight, that is, of course, late}.

So I get my buffing compound out, and put it on the top of the cab.

Then I let er rip....well, it ripped anyway, and all I could do was hold on.

I kept it going for just a little bit, then checked to see how things were going........................................E^#$%^@#$$#%$&$&#%@!$#$%!%!#$%#$%^@%^&@$%&U*

There is a little STEEL NUT on the middle of the buffer that holds the pad to the machine.

Well it made these little scribble lines, in a loop de loop pattern that looks like I doodled on a scrap piece of paper, when I was getting bored in my last class of the day in high school.

So today, my eye feels better so I try to sand it out. Well it went great until I started seeing the gray from the primer under the paint start showing through.......$^@#$%@$%&%(*I^%@#$%#%&%^*$%!%!#$%

So just now I shot it ONCE AGAIN with some black. Now I'm just sitting around waiting to see how many DAMNED bugs made the pilgrimage across the yard to die happy in my new, fresh, paint.

oww gees i feel your pain with all of that. i made those doodles your talking about to many times so i said forget that and spent the money on the new 3M foam system that has a locking system that makes it impossible to scratch paint...worth every penny. Ive got panels to shine twice as much as i ever could with wool, no lie. And the bugs...dont even get me started, ive got so mad ive wanted to shrink down to their size and beat them with something a few times haha

Well count me as someone who says good on ya that you ended up keeping the 'Stang. I used to restore 67/68 Stangs and I'd rather have one of them than a Supra!
mtrain   +1y
Yes JD I think you are right. I have a lot of work on my Mustangs, and I can get just about any part made for it if something like a wreck ever happens.

Where as I don't know where you would go to get a fender for a Supra.

Now it sounds like you need a break and a beer!!! NOT necessarily in that order!!! Wait, a beer break, THAT is what you need.

Seriously, I don't know about you but sometimes I just need to walk away for a while and freshen my view of things from across the room... especially when things are going wrong. Obviously I need more time to think about said job or more sleep, either way I need a break... know what I mean Vern?

Hang in there bubba, you'll make it one day.

Dan

Yes Dan the BEST thing is to walk away, and NOT try to do anything when your pissed. I was very lucky that the paint turned out ok, as it could have been a mess.

I do ask myself sometimes why I'm putting all of this time into a vehicle that will never bring more money than is in it, and most likely loose over 50% if I sold it.

My variable speed controller arrived from Harbor Freight today so I was able to get in a little buffing.

Now the buffer is actually controllable, and not trying to break my wrist each time I turn it on.

I do have to get this thing on the road as I know from everything I have read and experienced in my own life that if a project goes on too long its most likely never going to be finished. Either life will get in the way, or you just loose interest.

Many times have I thought about pulling the whole drivetrain and putting it in one of my 65 Mustang fastbacks.
