There's alot that could be causing your tire to wear on the inside like you'r describing but bad toe being the most likely. Negative camber is the next thing that would eat the inside of the tire away, followed by old worn out bushings and balljoints. I've even seen a case where a bad wheel bearing was the cause.
It's best to try to replace each part that has any type of play then take it in and have it aligned. To get by for now, until you can get everything replaced and tight again, you could google how to do an alignment yourself, to get it close.
