I cut off the existing cat and welded on a new one. I found one that is legal for CA. The existing one was completely welded. I took a flange off a stock civic exhaust I had laying around.

I want to change the muffler but I will do that later on. I ordered a rebuilt OEM carburetor, hopefully after that I will be completely dialed in for Smog.

I swapped the OEM carburetor for a rebuilt. Finally passed SMOG!!! Truck is running like a great! I have a few pics but the upload button is not showing up on my photo page. Have to try again later.

This is my intake I cleaned up sandblasting a touch then went over it with some (fine) cordless brushes 1/4 shank ends from lowes(kobalt brand) and gold colored to achieve the end result. These will luster the crap out of aluminum and well any metal to shine up.I did not clear it let it be clean as the clear would yellow over time.Still nice to see a clean part and a difference it does make.

87Forever, that manifold looks nice! looks like a lot of work polishing went into it!

Well glad to finally get the truck registered! Passed smog way under the numbers! So I should pass again in 2 years no problem.

Here are some pics of the new rebuild OEM Carb.

I indexed the front torsions then and cut off the front bump stop mount. Then decided to flip the ball joints.
New front end parts

after flipping the ball joints, i had to re-adjust the torsions because the current tires are 27" and are rubbing. I may do some cutting to make the tires clear. but I need to get new tires or tires wheels. Truck is missing one of the wheels. It came with the spare tire installed on the front passenger side. The guy never gave me the 4th wheel.

May just look for 5 lug parts now.....

Nice pair of rides, your truck needs more rim and less tire though.
