I've heard a few people say that the SD Ibeam brackets arent that great. Now i'm supposed to be helping lay out a 94 reg cab on 255/35r20s this winter at my buddies shop. We havent done a ranger yet, and I know its gonna be a headache...the customer already has the i beam brackets, and radius and trans xmembers and DJM beams. Now is it going to be worth the battle using the SD brackets? We don't have a tube bender to bend up the other style i see used (tubing with upper cups mounted off of frame rail). Opinions?

Have fun making it lay with the beams and "big" 20's. I'm doing one with 235/35-20's. The passenger beam will hit the oil pan. You need to either notch the oil pan (preffered) or notch the beam for clearance. The frame needs to be notched where the beam contacts it as well. And the frame needs to be notched for the tie rod on the passenger side. The drivers side tie rod is whole other story (it hits the pitman arm) Plus you need to remove the fenderwells, etc, etc. If "laying it out" is not that critical, then the SD brackets wil be fine. Otherwise, plan on fabricating everything. I have some ideas for the ranger I'm working on right now that hopefully will work out real well. Good luck.
