looks good seth its hell of a lot easier then a z. when you consider making evrythin straght, making plates, grinding more, moveing the steering, blah blah blah. then when body drop you dont have to drop the motor etc..........

I wanted to keep it close to stock. I'm going to drive it everyday, don't want to have ot worry about wearing tires weird.

Honestly, I don't know. I've never Z'd a frame, so I cannot compare. But, it was incredibly easy. For some reason, Z'ing the frame seems a little bit intimidating to me. This is the first truck I've bagged, so I really don't have any experience to compare to. But, for 17, I think I'm doing alright. Lol...

haha yeah its probably 6 of one half dozen of the other. Guys who have done a z (like me) say "holy geeze, section the pan, cut section and weld four different locations" and guys who have sectioned the mounts say "holy geeze, imagine trying to keep the frame square and level, lining it up and making plates.."

Really a z is super easy, you dont have to drop the front frame horns, just the core support ears off the front of the frame. It only raises the engine about an inch and that wont hit the hood, if you bd it 2 after that and drop the motor 3/4 you can still have a stick hood.

So maybe someday I'll get the chance to try it this way, but really the z was so damn easy even the first time, just laid the frame out on some 4x4's and supported the front clip with jacks, cut the ears off, two cuts in the frame, jack it up and weld it together. zip zap zip. Probably 45 minutes not including the the side plates which ryan made later.. and most of that was unbolting the exhaust manifold lol.

I don't really want to take my truck apart that far. Never built a truck before. Don't know much about motors and wiring, other than what I've done on bikes. So, this worked for me. I have nothing against Z'ing the frame, it just scares me a little bit. For some reason, this didn't.

you took your truck more apart than we did ryans, his still had the front suspension, the motor, everything in it. Pulled bumper & grille (to get to the core mounts) fenders (for elbow room) and cut cut cut cut weld. We could have left the ehaust manifold in but it was the end of a long day and no one could get the sawzall to go past the collector without chattering on it.
