Yea, TIG is fun. I TIG all my gas tanks together, so it's no big deal.

I'd say that sectioning the crossmember is pretty easy. I think I spent about 45 minutes on each side. The majority of that time was spent grinding slag off the frame, and removing the stock bushings. The upper mount took about 5 minutes to move, total.

Mike, I'll put up pictures of the way I did mine n a few minutes. I just finished it.

Okay, here are the pictures.All welded in the new location.

I still want to gusset the sides, and the front of the upper mount. It feels sturdy enough, but I'd feel a lot better with a few gussets. Other than that, I'm done.

Well, it was easy enough to do, and I figured it would keep the steering geometry closer to stock. It literally took 5 minutes to do the uppers, so I figured why not?

I think I did alright with it though? And the lowers will be 1/4" off the ground. Still have to section the pan before I can set it down.

looks good! probably 100x more work than a z, especially with section of the pan, but hey at least you had the skill to do it a different way! Props!
