It's a 5 speed. Remember I have a 1980 Toyota, with a 20R. Different motor. But, would a newer oil pan help out? I'm pretty sure external stuff is interchangeable from 20R to 22R motors.

I'm almost done with the front crossmember sectioning. It took an hour to get where I'm at, and it's been pretty easy. I'd have everythign welded up, but I can't get the bushings out of the LCA mount. They're shot and need replacing, and I have Energy Suspension bushings on the way, but I can't get the stock ones out. Any tips? They seem to be fused to everything.

light them on fire with your torch, they will melt and fall out. Easy.

we have special service tools at work that do it. if you know anybody that works at a big toyota dealer they should have it. but in any other case like russ said torch them its faster then any other thing. the oil pan from a 22r should be the same but you may want to check if anybody has like an old corolla, camry, or celica that has the 20r as well get the pan and the pick up tube+screen

well the truck is all torn down to the cab everythng else is removed. i will be doin the rear frame 1st to 4 link and fix some rot.
for the cut in the frame to z. is that cut a straight down cut or a somewhat angle? pics kinda look liek both but if its angled wont the frame be pushed to far ahead? like say it will be pushed longer width wise of the full frame??
as for the steering will i have to shorten the shaft when i z where would the u-joint go?? i will be goin to the rockers i will either fold over or cut and re weld the pinch
i think im going w 18's w 215-35-18 rubber.will there be interference with the brake booster?or any other problems?i think im going to leave the motor in when i z.someone said it will be difficult but ill let u knwo i guess. i doubt i will take it out. im sure we can weld it up good
thanks for talkin the time and reading all this guys. pics will be in my profile.
i can also post pics if soemone will draw lines or cirlce things to show me exactly what to do.

Thats a good idea on the car oil pan. I'll have to check out the salvage yards around here and see if I can find one.

I burned the ends off the one bushing. Then I ran out of oxygen. Picked up another bottle so I'll try again tomorrow. Thansk for the help guys.

Okay, I checked out the Pick-N-Pull, eBay, and local Craigslists. No oil pans. There were a few 22RE pans on Celicas, but they are about 1/2" taller, and the sump is in the front, where my steering linkage goes. Should I just section my existing pan an inch? I can TIG weld it.
