Haven't checked this in a couple days. Thanks Joe about the attention to the photos on your site.

As far as the ads, once the negative word is squashed, your prices will do the talking where you won't have to "bash" others. I'll be saving the green stuff for the new airbags and maybe more!

John Boy,Thank you, "bashing" works both ways, and the forums have been known for this and it keeps a lot of otherwise participants from taking the forum's seriously. I will clean up my comments on my next round of ads which are for the January/February issues. I appreciate the constructive exchanges on this thread, and I will reciprocate in kind. Thank you for your posting,Joe Morrow

I've had some experiences with AIM components and all of them were bad. I've never had experience with their sales department tho, I would always buy through a distributor to sidestep them.

Anyway, any compressor from them that has come into my shop was blown. Every valve was inoperable. Obviously I can't vouch for how these components were treated since I didnt install them, but I would always replace them with reputable products.

The one time I did a major install with AIM was a '01 Maxima, they had the only strut kit listed that would fit, and after some modification it wasnt too bad to install. Howvever one year later the customer complained that the car wasnt drivable over 30mph, after pulling the suspension apart it was obvious the strut was broken in half inside of the bag. Of course there was no warranty so he had to purchase an entire new front kit, which had also risen in price dramatically. This car was show only and driven only on the weekends so if it was a daily it wouldn't have lasted as long. I'm not looking for a refund or credit (wouldn't take it anyway) since I wasnt the customer but I just figured I'd put the story out there.

Dave, I have a comment on your posting. Please do not take this as me being defensive, but I have to say that valves are rarely bad (we did have some bad valves about 4yrs ago though) 90% of the time (yes, 90%) the installer did allowed pipe dope or teflon fragments into the orifice, or did not install a water trap. On compressors, this is an extremely rare event, and we have always stood behind them. On the broken strut: Struts will not break under intended use. Our shafts are 7/8" in diameter, generally twice the size of original equipment. Here is what happens: Popping the vehicle UP or DOWN will absolutely damage any strut tearing it apart internally. So will rideing with the strut all the way down, or all the way up. You have the force of a 3,000 lb vehicle bottoming, or topping out. A strut is not like an airbag where there is nothing to break. In any event, we have a policy of replacing the strut for 1/2 price, even though abuse is not our fault. In this case, you acknowledge there is a 3rd party (the original customer) Everyone knows that things get lost playing musical chairs. I will assist any customer whether it is our fault or not, always have. You just have to get me in the info loop. These postings allow me the ability to get into the middle of things.

Thank you,

Well, I'm glad to see you're finally stepping up with what you said you would do and backing your products and trying to make deals right.

That said, I'm still not sure I'd buy from you after I went through hell trying to get the airstruts that were on my car fixed since they leaked. I just got told there was nothing you could do since I didn't buy them from you personally, even after I offered to help cover the costs of replacement/repair. I've since ripped out the entire set up and will be re-doing it. Just wish the struts I want didn't cost $2250.

Starion,I find your posting a little unfair because you purchased a vehicle where someone else installed the struts. In any event, our policy is to have you send them in and we repair, or we charge you 1/2 price for new ones. Our struts are $895 a pair, not $2250, and I absolutely guarantee that we build them properly. We use a 7/8" shaft, and more importantly, each strut that we build is unique to the vehicle, not a Universal Strut. We send the actual factory mounting clevis and top configurations. I have said in a previous posting that I DO NOT require proof of original purchase on fabricated products. I simply stand behind them, and struts are no exception. You have my email if you want to fix a problem. Thank you for your posting,Joe Morrow

Joe,i think i and it seems many of us on here truly do commend what your doing. To be honest i never have ordered anything from AIM,therefore i have no feedback as far as parts, shipping,or anything else described on here.I must admit when i got this issue of MT with the NR ranger on the cover your adds really stood out this month.I just though if you focused more on your sales pitch over, everythings made in china so dont believe the others and the whole AVS situation it wouldnt have come off so wrong,I know this was probably mentioned and honestly i didnt read all 15 pages but i will say i truly appreciate what your doing and it seems you understand now where mistakes were made.I hope all goes well with getting things straightened out and i hope the best for your company.thanksCasey

Thank you Casey! There is a lot behind the scenes that caused me to focus on Made in China. It came from a competitor that ran my airbags next to a picture of Easy Street saying our bag was made in China. He also put 2PLY !! next to my bags. All bags are 2ply.. Slam, EZ Street, Firestone. Yes, it is, just the SAME AS EASY STREET, even though Easy Street had on their website "Made in USA" This is wrong and misleading advertising. Now that I have a outlet to communicate on the forum, Your posting gives me an opportunity to correctly inform the community, and I thank you for it.

Joe, what type of vehicles do you own?I almost hesitate to answer this one, but here goes...1957 Thunderbird with full Air Suspension. I owned it since 19682003 Mercedes Sl 5,000 miles2000 S10 body dropped that will be at SEMA this year2006 Rolls Royce Phantom for airport runs. 1500 miles. It took me 68 years to earn it, so take it easy on me!2002 H2 Hummer that was on the cover of Truckin

and my most favorite is...................

1997 Toyota T100 4banger that is my daily driver 7 days a week. (full of junk and dented everywhere) It has 160,000 miles on it and I have changed the oil twice.. (so now it is starting to smoke) so I buy a case of oil at Costco and all is well.2002 H2 Hummer that was on the cover of Truckin

This is pretty impressive for both Joe Morrow and SSM. Im impressed that someone that owns such a large company has come onto our forums to make things right, it's been a long time coming. Im equally impressed on how this thread has not turned negative.

And so am I IMPRESSED. Both Kris and I hoped this would be a constructive thread, and I am more than pleased. what we have is constructive criticism with positive input.

The Mini Truckers of today evolve into the HotRodders of tomorrow. I would like to add a comment not related to your posting.

I would like to ask MEMBERS to try to post only their experiences because when you post a 3rd party experience, it rarely is factual to the details, but rather the 3rd party held some information back, and then it gets magnified out of proportion and only brings distortion. Not saying it wasn't true, it just is Musical Chairs.

Thank you for your posting KEG

i havent posted on this site in well over 6 months, but i just spent the last hour reading through most of the posts here so i figure i would give my input. its good to see that there are some possitive feedbacks mixed in with that bad. it seems most of the bad is not recent, which shows that aim has made some strives to improve their products. i've never dealt with AIM,(i've had 2 juiced cars, no air) but as i get ready to bag my truck i think i'd give joe my business.

Shaved..

This gives me a DIRECT LINK to my customers that are members of SSM. The forum gives me a chance to show members my products are NOT junk, but perhaps their experience was junk.. I am what will make the difference to the members, because I babysit any issue I am involved with.

thank you for your positive posting,

First off I wanted to thank you for all the parts I have ever ordered from AIM. I have bought 2 sets of mazda spindles, a set of isuzu spindles, a set of nissan hardbody spindles, 4 bags, a big red compressor, 3 gallon tank and a set of mazda tail light fillers. All with no problems. So thanks again, I was just wondering though, why do the drop spindles have to push the wheel out another 1/2 to 3/4 on each side?

Joe,i totally understand defending yourself and your product,no problem there, but ill say this,i never noticed the postings on other sites about them bashing your product, and by that im not saying it didnt happen,im saying maybe thoes bashing could be a tad bit jealous due to the size of the company and the size of the adds.Honestly if i were to see that add i would probably skim right over it.Honestly you should have no worries about us checking your adds out.I would say for a majority of our guys on here,we do read the magazines,MT,Truckin all thoes. And i just wanted to say,i really appreciate your response,i was curious to see if i got a reply and in a timly manner,i did,so when it comes to time to order somthing new,im gonna look your way.thanksCasey
