joe, about 5 years ago i bought some things from you when i bagged my truck originally, and within one month every aim part was removed and replaced with other manufacturers. i had nothing but problems with your product. here is a list of what i bought and what happened to it all:

(2) dc5000 compressors. they worked fine for a little while, untill both caught on fire. one of them i rebuilt, then it caught on fire again. i replaced them with viair 450s. still have them today.

(4) 3 way valves. from the moment i installed them i had nothing but problems with them. they would stick either open or closed randomly. i took them out and replaced with smc. the smc valves i still have today.

(1) 10 switch box. half the switches would get stuck. replaced it with avs. still works today.

(2) 150 psi gauges. they leaked air right from the start. took them out and replaced with the kp gauges that are in there now that work fine.

misc ptc fittings. they all leaked air!

(4) 2500 air springs. 2 fell apart. literally. they fell apart. i took out all 4 and replaced with slam specialties. i still have them today.

other then the bag brackets and shock mounts i bought, EVERYTHING broke within a months time. every time something broke, id call and got the same response. i was told on the phone that the problem was due to poor install and that you wouldnt take anything back. especially things that were already installed, then i was transferred around, talked RUDLY to and hung up on. but i tried. EVERY TIME something else broke, id call over there and try to at least get a new part but noone would help me at all, so i just slowly switched out your parts and bought other peoples. your customer service was HORRIBLE. i spent thousands of dollars on things that just broke and went in the garbage and noone from your company would help me out. and i dont want to hear any more of that "bad installation" or "misuse of our part" from you guys either. i can bring experts into this thread that will tell you that everything was installed fine. its not rocket science doing a basic bag job.

now, i like your attitude, and understand that sometimes there are bad parts in a batch and that sometimes things happen and would be more then willing to return to you as a customer. i understand alot of your parts are made here in america and id like to support that. however, i WILL NOT ever buy anything from you again untill i get at least a partial refund on the bad parts i bought and i will continue to tell people about my horror story in dealing with your company untill you make good on it and give me money back.

i will copy and paste this into an email i am sending you. i hope you will consider my offer, and like i said, i appreciate that you are making good on things and are trying to better your company and reputation but i for one am still not convinced of anything untill i get back some of the hard earned money i spent on the parts that just failed on me. thanks.

how? i hope its not by responding to each individuals post and blowing smoke up their ass. tell us you have hired someone who is responsible for quality control, tell us you have had meetings with your customer service reps and told that that these people are our lifes blood, and if they are not happy i am not happy. tell us your going to get in touch with suppliers and inform them that their products are failing??? tell us how your company has changed for the better since this all came about.

Hi Joe,

After reading AIM hate threads for ever I have pretty much summed up the problems people have in a very short list.

1.) Customer service - Ive heard everything from crazy shipping costs (when compared to other companies selling similar products), rude attitudes where the customer is blatantly told they are wrong, and restocking fees being charged when incorrect parts are sent.

2.) quality of components - Ive personally seen parts fail in ways that were strictly design and manufacturing defects.

Yes cost is an issue for most people but so is their safety. I would rather see over engineered parts that are build heavier then needed then stuff that is build the cheapest way possible. Mabey get raw parts made in china then assemble them on a jig here and tig weld them together. That way the quality standard is easier to adhere to. I know you have some designers working over there and im interested in their backgrounds that qualify them to be making such parts, seeing as I am a design engineer myself.

As far as customer service goes...if someone has to warranty a part then I think you guys should send out the part with a return box prepaid. Thats a hell of a way to stand behind your product. Viair did this for me and I found it to be a very stand of move on their behalf.

These are just my thoughts and I intend them in a positive constructive manner.

NO WAY, do I just respond and blow smoke. Each issue is handled by me PERSONALLY and I counsel with anyone that needs it. Over the past week, many issues are several years old. We just happen to still be around to respond to it. I want to make it clear that I do not disagree with the majority of these postings. I take action. ALWAYS. Blowing smoke will not accomplish a thing and a waste of my time.

I remain here for positive conclusions to past issues.

Thank you

My chief engineer, Ryan Davies has been with me for 5 years and is very qualified. I will ask Ryan to post a response to you tomorrow and you guys can kick the dog a little.

Your comment on VIAIR sending an extra box with return postage struck a chord with me. I will put this into the hopper and move on it very shortly. A UPS number to charge it to would suffice as postage. I appreciate your comments and they are not lost on me.

Ryan will post tomorrow. Thank you,

Well hot damn!!! I hope this really comes to light, and makes AIM the Company it could've been years ago. I bouth my first lowering kit from AIM, and everthing fi OK I guess. It was just super late getting to me. It was ordered about 5 weeks prior to Xmass, and didnt get to me till mid Jan. But I still have the 2" dropped spindles on my Dime. Been on there since 1996. Good luck Joe, it seems like you are really trying to do the right thing.
