Am I the only one offended by this statement? I'm not trying to be an ass...Im just shooting straight from the hip here. Im not taking any blame for a failed magazine. The realty of the matter is the mags are polluted with advertisements. Truckin used to be the worst. I have not picked up a Truckin' for a long time now. Mainly because of the ridiculous amounts of ads and the fact that you guys were featuring as many BOATS as you were trucks. This was about the time i quit subscribing to truckin. Yeah the custom truck enthusiast is killing your mags. How many threads have been made with people fussing about the amount of ads in the mags. I realize the ads have to be there to pay the bills. However the rest of the content of the magazines lately have not outweighed the ads. This includes minitruckin sport truck, and truckin. I mean seriously I have gone to shows with 100's upon 100's of trucks there and then when the coverage comes out in the mag its like a page and a half. Times are tight for everyone and Im sure that has hurt the magazines. However you cant blame the people for not buying. If they arent buying there is a reason, be it financial or just being plain dissatisfied with the magazine itself.---------------------------------------------exactly. make me WANT TO BUY YOUR MAGAZINE. i honestly dont buy mags anymore, because 50% is advertising & all the trucks are basically the same, chevys on 22s blah blah... how about some friggin variety? oh wait i forgot people would rather see another s10 than put a tastefully done midsize sedan in a mag here's another idea, regarding how long it takes to run a feature. how about you only feature top to bottom worthy vehicles, not just the pretty looking ones. i cant tell you how many cover/feature trucks i've looked at that are buckets of shit up close. if there is shit thats "wrong", dont shoot around that stuff, dont shoot it at all. reward the people that put in the extra effort, it might cut down on the number of vehicles to sift through on your desk each month. it might make for a better quality mag in the process. ---------------------------------------------Goddamn right! How about a few bag and drag cars now and again? I know its Mini Truckin etc but if you do more cars that are mini inspired where is the harm? Instead I see another s10 ranger etc. Then I would subscribe but until then ill stick to sitting at home on the web hangin at SSM --------------------------------------------- dude wtff? do you have any idea how many magazines already cover hondas? its called "mini TRUCKIN" put a bed on your damn civic and then im sure it will make a page somewhere in a truck mag. i mean if you bagged car guys all know so damn much about what needs to be in a mag to sell it then start one and call it mini cars or some shit. then you can feature all 39 of yalls cars over and over again. i mean do you honestly know how small our scene is compared to the rest of the custom car/truck related world? and adjustable suspension cars are only a minute fraction of our scene. if you want your name and ride in mt or any other truck mag then buy a damn truck. either that or quit bitchin and go to some damn import shows and get featured in one of the tons of import mags. i mean i dont see yall bitchin at them about only shooting 350z's and skylines and never a bagged civic. sorry if i seem like an ass but i mean give me a break. i dig bagged cars i really do but i would never buy a magazine completely devoted to that alone and neither would many others which is why you dont see ANY on shelves ANYWHERE. it takes ALOT to run a magazine. the only way to sell magazines and make money is to try to reach the most broad audience possible, well thats not very easy to do when theres only a small fraction of enthusiasts into what your magazine has to offer. the only way to keep it alive is for that scene to grow and more people start buying the mag. now its hard enough for just a hand ful of mags to keep going in a scene as small and young as ours is. i hope this scene continues to grow and get bigger so this doesnt happen to any of the other mags but its not going to if everyone acts so damn selfish as to say assanine shit like this. ive been to 6 major shows this year so far and i havent carried a truck to any of them. my truck is under the knife but i still get out and support my hobby and this scene. i buy mags but only when they pertain to something im interested in. truckin used to not be so i didnt bother buying the mag. a few weeks ago i opened one and was completely blown away at how far it had come since 2 years ago. so i bought it. and ill continue to as long as they keep putting out informative material and good features of sick trucks. as for cars, if i see one in truckin im gonna put the damn thing back on the shelf cuz thats not why i picked up a TRUCKIN magazine to look at in the first place.
