"Mini-truckers" evolve into other types of automotive enthusiasts. There's always the exceptions.

Facebook is taking over, but this site has been on the decline for years.

As long as there is a kid somewhere with a minitruck and a dream, minitruckin will never die........I dont own a mini right now but I will build another one some day, because minitruckin is in my soul, engraved on my DNA, as long as Im driving down the road and I roll past a bone-stock toyota and my mind immediatly says "man how awesome would that truck look touching rocker on some 18's"...I know in my heart of hearts that minitruckin will live forever. Its not a magazine, its not a show, hell its not even a specific truck or even a set of airbags...its the love of a person and a vehicle that society tells you is only good for hauling firewood and furniture, but for some reason you know its destined for greater things. I remember a day when I was the only one in my town rollin a dumped mini around a sea of lowriders, cutless, impala and the like...but ya know what, it was still very alive to me and no one could convince me otherwise. So, take these words as you find them but know as long as there is one man out there rollin his mini, minitruckin will be alive.

I have been away from ssm for about a year and have had time to look at everything from a fresh perspective. I wonder if it isn't just our PERSPECTIVE that makes people think the scene is dead. There are signs that the scene is declining but some of those signs are not good indicators. Number 1 example I can think of, SSM... Yes, I admit it.. For many years SSM has been neglected (not lately by bobs fault but lack of good development support by people Bob depended on' me included). If this sounds arrogant I apologize it is not meant that way, but SSM is still (as far as I know, correct me if I am wrong) the leading website related to the scene we are talking about. And with a web oriented world, the decline of ssm alone would point some to believe in rumors that the scene was dead. I maybe a bit out of touch so if so please say so, but I am wondering (cringe) if alot of the rumormill of the dying scene might be ultimately partly my/SSM's fault (this is an honest question)?

Posting topics like these are dead.

Didn't layd out at the park have over or almost 1000 registered vehicles this year, being a all time high for the show. I just go to shows, throw back some cold ones with the boys and girls and have a damn blast. If the scenes dieing I haven't seen it. I see the same hi quality vehicles at shows I attend and people constantly improving there rides and bringing fresh ones out. Of course shows will drift off and die out but to me that's nature of the beast for new ones to arise and improve off previous ones.

This site is rather slow on traffic wise but believe me that's a lot of forums now days. Someone hit it right on the head when they said, why post stuff on multiple forums when you are 1 click away from however many friends you have on facebook for them to see. I say this with facts, owning 3 websites and 2 of them minitruckin related. Facebook put a effect on the amount of users I see and posts that are there. Just because it is so easy to use facebook now days and have access to hundreds of people in a instant.

Keep on keepin on.

to this whole subject i say who gives a fuck.if the "scene" died would that mean everyone would have to destroy there minis? no it dosent. the "scene" will never dissapear or die end of story. people have been customizing vehicles since day one and they will never stop.
