Well I just went and had a chat with the local "Cummins Guru" as I call him. We worked out a pretty good deal I think. I'm going to get the cummins set on the dually frame, mount the battery, and fuel tank where I want it permanently. After that I'm dropping it off with him, and he's going to do everything else. Get all my gauges working, fuel line plumbing, the little bit of wiring, and really just get it street ready and reliable again in the dually. Since I'm parting this dodge out and he wants the cab off of it I'm going to cut him a bit of a price break on it when he buys it. Seems like a good deal to me. He can have it done twice as fast as I could and I don't have to be out any cash up front.

Haha I completely understand that man. I use my phone to do most of my updates also.

I got my front end completely back together last night and got the front half of the frame in primer to fight off rust until I get it painted. The only thing I still need to do inthe front is cup the lower arms and pie cup the uppers.
I've got a couple buddies coming by tonight to hopefully get my cab set back on. I'll try to post up some pix some time today.

Well the last couple of days on the truck have been an adventure for sure. I ended up having to unload my cab by myself. My buddies all got tied up and couldn't all get here at the same time till Saturday and I'm impatient. I ended up pulling the cab to the end of the trailer with my lawn mower lol. Once it was there I let the back of it rest on some old tires and picked the front up with my engine hoist. After I pulled the trailer out from under it I let the front sit on jack stands. So today I went out with the cab still sitting in the air and assembled the rest of the front end loosely together. To keep the front held up I jacked it up and set a couple of small piece of 4"x4" wood pieces on the lower control arm. I again used my lawn mower to my engine hoist that was holding the back of the frame up since the axle wouldn't go under the cab and pulled it into place. I ended up getting the cab and frame back together like this but what a pain in the ass. I guess it worked though.
It laid out really nicely once it was all bolted down. I'm going to have to notch my firewall a bit to clear the Z. Also when I let the front down I ended up smashing the little plastic ball off of the firewall with the front tire. I still have to get the cab back off again once the engine and trans are all fitted up one more time but for now it's on there.
Sorry for the long post but I had to tell you all what a bitch this is to solo working in the grass by yourself lol. Sparky I'm sure you know exactly what I'm talking about.
I'll post some pics up if I can from my phone in just a minute. Enjoy everyone.

This is the cab danglin in the air right after I pulled the trailer out from under it.

Going to have to move some cables and my wiring harness looks like. Probably gunna need a bit of a tub for the tires also.

The cab hitting the top of the Z. I think if I just trim the firewall seam it'll clear.

And finally....after months of work...the cab is back on the frame and LAID OUT!!

What kind of price did he give you to do all the motor work?

Really was much a price honestly. I just told him I'd cut him a good deal on the cab from my donor truck when I part it out.
I've just about changed my mind on the whole thing honestly. I think I'm gunna just give it a whirl myself. The more I think about someone else doing a major part of the work on getting my engine and trans going the more I don't like it. Plus it should be easy to do. It'll just take me a little while longer to do it than it would him since I don't get all that much time to work on it.

Right now I'm trying to figure out how to retain my factory PCM to run my trans, cruise control, and other odds and ends. Shouldn't be much to it but digging through a 60 pin harness isn't fun. If anyone is good at wiring please let me know so I can run a couple of diagrams by you and see what your opinion is on it.
