Put some money under the hood of the truck and you will have a Vette and a truck.

Stay with the truck. Those early Vette's ride like log trucks. You will beat yourself to death in that thing. You can put a new sound system, a new set of seats, a great paint job, and you will have still spent less than what you would have in the vette. Plus you can still haul stuff in the bed when you need too. Stay with the truck, and save your kidney's

I would say stay away from the vette, I have gotten lucky enough to be dubbed the "family" mechanic (not really a job I wanted) my brother in law traded his silverado for an 89 vette and it is a turd, constantly needs work done and parts are never on the shelf at the parts store, always next day from the warehouse. Plus they are expensive to fix, I'd do like everyone else has said and fix the truck up a lil bit and finish the paint, maybe put in a set of vette taillights in the roll pan (just kiddin) just my .02 cents worth.

Well I'm out traveling right now seeing all of the family for the holidays, and really wanting to get some work done on the truck. I haven't had any time to work on it in a long time and it's driving me crazy. As soon as I get home I'm going to try and finish up the floor pans, trans tunnel, drive shaft tunnel, and wiring so it can all be pulled back apart for final painting and assembly.

Does anyone have a diagram or schematic for my '87 that shows all of the wires coming out of the fuse box on the engine bay side. I need to figure out where all of the wires go that come out of that bulkhead. I know I'm only going to be reusing a hand full of them but I'm going to keep that entire harness and bulkhead under the dash to keep everything clean, and my drivers side tire is only about an inch from the harness. any help on that diagram would be great.

I got this out of my Haynes book. Should be what you are looking for. I had to bring the file size down quite a bit to make it fit on the website. Let me know if you can pull it up and make it work for you. If not send me an email address and I can send you the bigger file.

Man I just can't quite make out the wire colors on it. I'm on my IPad right now so I was able to crop and enhance it but still couldn't make out a lot of the words. If ya get a chance just drop it to my email in as big of a file size as needed. Thanks a lot for the help man.
My email is . If anyone ever needs anything they don't want to post to the public your best bet would be to email me. I get them onmy phone as soon as they come to my inbox. PM's sent on the forum some times take me days to notice lol.

Hey man I just checked my E-mail and saw that you had sent me that diagram and it's much better. thanks for taking the time to do that. I owe ya one.
If anyone ever needs any wiring diagrams for a square body or any of the Cummins wiring just hit me up. I've been gathering diagrams for some time now and finally have at least 1 copy of everything you would ever need to completely rewire one of these trucks or put a cummins in.
I also acquired some old GM drafts or something of all of the original dimensions of the square body crew cabs. I'll post them up later. Their some really cool old diagrams. Even if your not into square bodies their still cool to check out.
Well I'm still out of town right now, but I just chatted with my little bro and as soon as I get home I'm going to finish up my notch and we should be able to get it tore back down now. He has his Tahoe's new engine installed and it's out of the garage so we can get the dually in for a while. I will of course snap a few pix for everyone as soon as we get it started.
I hope everyone had a good safe holiday.
