Casey said he could make you a carpet out of stock replacement material for $300 and install it if you have the seats pulled.

Damn man that's a good deal. As soon as I get the cab back on after I finish up the chassis I'll get a hold of you for sure.
Did you get a chance to cut the 2" square stock flanges yet??

I'm really hoping one of you guys will be able to help me on this one. I'm about to order all the parts to set my new steering shaft up and have no idea what spline count my gear box is. For any of you that don't know the truck has a stock gear box for a 1987 chevy 1 ton 2wd. I've heard it was 36 spline and I've heard 48 spline. I can't seem to find the info anywhere and currently my doors are frozen shut so I'm unable to pop the hood and count lol.
I have read through a few different bud threads including Sparkys build and it seems there has been some confusion in the past on the proper part numbers. So that just further confused me on the correct spline count and/or part number.

Well I finally got my door pulled open and popped my hood. I got the factory rag joint yanked off and figured out my factory box has a 26 spline but it has a flat spot in it so the rag joint can only go back on one way. So now I have to find a U joint that has the 26 spline with the flat spot in it on one side and a 3/4" round stock on the other side or does the new U joint have to have the flat spot to fit on the input?? If anyone has any insight on where I can score one let me know.

most I've seen ran double D between the collum shaft and the gear box.

A company called Unisteer makes stainless u-joints of all different splines, and shapes/ combo's I know you can get them from Yogi's hot rod parts, and I think Speedway motors sells them also. You can also go to their website...

I finally went to the paint store yesterday and found my paint. The truck is going to be blue and silver. Mostly blue with some silver incorporated somewhere. The color I decided to use is a 2012 Infinity/Nissan color called "Daytona blue" that we threw some extra Pearl in to really make it pop. You can't really see the pearl or metallics in it from this picture but you get the general idea of the shade of blue it is.

I went outside this afternoon after dreading finishing my floor pans for days and finally got my driveshaft tunnel done. I have a few small areas around the edges that need to be worked and tacked but I'm going to wait untill I get the cab off and can get at it from the under side. The only thing left other than that is the small piece of 2" wide 1/4" stock I used to hump the floor pan brace over the driveshaft needs a piece made to cover it and connect the sections of tunnel. I'm going to wait till I get it back to the shop for that so I'll be able to use the English wheel to work a piece to blen it all together.
I just have to put a few more tacks on the sections of 4 link that are already on the truck so the axle will stay under the truck while we load and unload it and its ready to load up and move for final tear down.

I know exactly what you mean. If I wouldn't have bought the cummins for mine it would probably be almost done by now. I've finally told myself after the cummins no more new stuff. I just want to drive this thing again lol
