Ho much did you Z the frame? Thanks for taking pictures, I have been looking for a while for pictures of this with no luck.

It's been Z'ed 4.75". That should be enough to get the cab on the pavement. Also going any further than that would have made doing the frame horns a lot more difficult. With 4.75" the top of the frame just about welded directly to the lower section on the other side on the horns if I remember right. I towed the chassis back to my house to try and get some more work done on it in my back yard. I was having to drive about 60 miles each way to work on it. I should be able to get things cut and tacked at my house, and than just use the TIG to finish weld when I take it back to the shop. I'll post up some pics tomorrow as long as I get something accomplished.

I hope that helps ya Racker. If you need any pics on any specific area or just want to know how I did something just let me know. I may not always do things the conventional way, if there is one, but I'm going to try and make it as much of a daily driver as possible and safe enough to haul my family to and from cruise in's and shows.

I finally got my plasma cutter tips in yesterday and got the other frame rail cut in half. I managed to break my grinder also so I just finally went and got a new grinder today. FINALLY, I can make some more progress as long as all of my equipment holds together now. I'll post up some pics as soon as I get some notable progress made that's not just cutting metal.

On a side note is anyone else attending the S.O.L 6 show in Joplin,Mo June 1-3?? Should be a good show.Hopefully some of you guys that aren't all the way across the country can make it!!

Welding is one of those things I've always wanted to be proficient at, but never invested the time to practice. Been thinking about taking a class at the local community college, but I just can't seem to commit to investing that amount of time.

Seeing as how my Dad ran a fab shop in one of his former lives, you'd think it'd come naturally.

It doesn't.

theres a lot of theory and metalurgy that comes with welding , it might be making youre welds nicer just to know wat material to use

this is all so familiar to me... lol except you have a plasma cutter... i had to use a sawzall to cut my z...

keep up the good work. it looks great!
