just a little quick update, been feaverishly slavin on the truck in the hot arse garage for the past week, fixed some stuff I wasn't happy with, done a little body work, and have a lot more to go, hopefully by the end of next week, I'll be thru with the rear end of the truck, bed on, cab off, and engine sitting in the garage waiting on me to finish the front end cleanup & reinstall the cab....then a coat of primer to be at least presentable on the street, and soon the beast will roar!!! I'll try to get some new pics up in the next couple days of what's been going on....

l8r!

as promised....it may not seem like a lot, but I've been bustin my arse in my hot arse garage for two weeks trying to whip the dawg into shape for when I get the engine in the next week or so!

pulled the rear axle out, fixed one of the sway bar mounts, welded a 1/4"npt bung to fix the breather that the junk yard dolomites knocked off so that they could ship the axle instead of just pulling the drain plug...duh..also had to move two of the supports on my fuel cell frame cause they were interfering with the sway bar once I sat the bed back on the truck, welded in the frame mounts for the sway bar, also two supports for the fuel, brake, & electrical, plus pulled the carrier, flushed out the housing, and the gearset, put it back together and added a coat of paint, new synthetic fluid...painted all four brake calipers, installed the new fuel lines and brake lines, then found a little time to do some body work, filled the gas tank door on the side of the bed (sorry no pic of that, I had already pushed the truck into the garage) cut the trap door in the bed floor to access the fuel cell, and revamped the rollpan which still has a little work togo...not to mention sanding out some rust spots, and a quick rattle can coat of primer on the outside of the bed...more to come in the near future

enjoy the pics & happy 4th to everyone!!

you have had that truck forever and a day
nytrdr24   +1y
yep bought it new june 25th '93, can't wait to get it running!!

did you ditch the bed plastics??....by the wheel wells??
nytrdr24   +1y
unfortunatly that was the only part of the bed that was f'd up, looked like the previous owner had ran across them with a cheese grader or sumthin! I do have the gas filler door & the plastic piece that fits behind it, and onto the stock fuel lines that isn't cracked...but that is about it...

trucks looking good. im really diggin the tag area where you widened the area. the hidden hitch is a great touch too!
nytrdr24   +1y

thanks for the compliment, the hitch ought to come in handy, won't tow much, small trailer with my 600rr or a lawnmower, nothing more than that...

the "rollpan" tag area isn't finished, I've got a little sumthin else going on but don't have a pic of it yet, still needs some grinding & a coat of primer, I'll post it up later....but for now, a couple other pics for ya'll.

Last night I got done tacking in the passenger cab corner where it was fubar from a deer hitting the truck, last major body repair to go on with this project (whoo-hoo!)

considering the cab corner, the rollpan, and filling in the gas tank door on the bed side are my first "real" body work other than swappin fenders & pullin the bed, not too shabby if I say so myself...

more pics to come (prolly next week)
