Hey Dad,
Check the oil pressure sensor......it could be leaking (shooting a fine stream of oil towards the front of the engine, and then the fan will distribute it all over the front timing cover. Sometimes the sensor will leak out of the tip of it where the sensor wire clips on.......it's worth a look anyway.

You can rig a paper towel or small rag around the sensor (or tape it up) to contain the oil if you suspect it, then go for a short drive and see if it contains the oil enough to keep the fan from blowing it all over.

Where is that located ? ..... ugh, sorry, not certain.... I thought it was way back away from the front of Engine.... I see the coolant temp. sensor, and I see the sensor on top front of intake(fuel sensor or air or vacum sensor I guess )....where is the OIL PRESSURE SENSOR. I don't have an OIL PRESSURE Gauge. Just a Oil "idiot" light..... Please also check your EMAIL , I sent you a PHOTO of the leak area. I'm guessing a stress micro crack or fracture and I think JB WELD will fix it ... still searching. HELP

I have had the front main oil seal blow out on me before. Oil seals have two "lips" on them and one of the "lips" had torn off. One thing to look for is if the oil is being "flung" off of the harmonic balancer. Good luck

Also the seal should be installed with the spring facing the inside of the motor.

That seal could be a possibility... I was certain I installed in right, ( BRAND SPANKING NEW)..... I will have to remove the MAIN PULLEY and Check it out if the Oil continues. I was going to get a bottle of that OIL LEAK Sealer that I see on the internet and youtube that master mechanics have been using for 50 years, suppose to stop tiny crack leaks or seal leaks...... You just pour it in with the Oil. but... everying is BRAND SPANKING NEW ON THIS MOTOR. ALL SEALS, ALL GASKETS, EVERYTHING. and it was super clean when we put it all back together. ...

I did FIX ONE LEAKY AREA. The Timing Chain Tensioner cover was leaking out the bottom a bit. I removed, cleaned it good with gasket on it. added some RTV Engine HIGH TEMP sealer, put it back on. LET SIT FOR 30 Min, then ran engine anddrove around for 45 min. STOPPED LEAKING Also put a little on what might be a MICRO Crack on the Oil Pump FRONT COVER.... STOPPED LEAKING THERE ALSO. May replace with JB Weld there., will monitor for any leakyness..... thanks for help, still working on getting all kinks out, SHE RUNS LIKE A SCALDED DOG THOUGH, GREAT !!!

I personaly would not put that stuff in the engine oil. Not only does it not seem to work, a newly rebuilt engine should not need anything like that. Locating and repairing the leak would be a much better idea in my eyes.

Have another mystery issue. While driving engine runs drives smooth. Shifts smooth, 4x4 low and high work smooth. While accelerating runs smooth, as soon as you COAST or LET OFF THE GAS AND TRUCK IS COASTING, OR SLOWING DOWN DURING COASTING, Whether clutch is pressed down or clutch is up fully engaged, truck makes a WHINNING SOUND, LIKE A SCHOOL BUS "NYEEAA NYEEAA ......" TOUCH THE GAS PEDAL, or ACCELERATE A BIT , SOUND STOPS IMMEDIATELY.
Here is what we did to try to resolve:
1) REPLACED ALL HYPOID GEAR OIL WITH NEW OIL IN TRANSMISSION
2) REPLACED ALL HYPOID GEAR OIL WITH NEW OIL IN TRANSFER CASE
3) REPLACED ALL HYPOID GEAR OIL WITH NEW OIL IN FRONT AXLE BOX
4) Checked and didn't need to ADD ANY REAR END DIFFERENTIAL OIL, LOOKED GOLDEN LIKE HONEY, GOOD SHAPE.

NO IDEA WHAT WOULD CAUSE IT, Tranny shifts smooth, all gears work well. ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS COULD BE? Would CV Joints make it "winey" like that during deceleration or coasting and decelerating ? or would a DRIVE SHAFT make that sound? Checked, and driveshaft and linkage is smooth and tight, seems fine. ODD maybe rear end doing it....HELP

It could be the rear end......not sure but I would think the front diff. is not turning when in 2WD.......does it do this in all gears or just when your in 5th gear? The 5 speed trans in the B2200 trucks can whine a bit as they are worn, but I don't know on the B2600i trucks.......they are a much stouter manual transmission also.

If you take the truck in any gear or in neutral it doesn't matter. When you decelerate, it makes the whining noise.
