Yah they have an electric fuel pump. Not sure on how to test them though. If you test the fuel pump and thats working ok test the crank position sensor. That went bad on mine and was causing the truck to not start.

the fuel pump relay is in the driver kick panel, and there are 2 ignition wires in the steering column, make sure u got the right wires hooked up, if you want to check to see if the fuel pump is working your gonna have to either pull the bed off or drop the tank, there are two plug on the sending unit i dont remember which one is for the pump and the gas gauge, so you might have to pull it out and run 12volts to it
or u can pull the fuel line off at the fuel filter and point the line into a bottle and have someone crank over the motor, if u got fuel then its something else, if you dont then go for the pump, if the pump works, make sure u got a good ground, and good gas, check with a test light or a multi meter if you got power to the pump also

OK... when i did the push button starter i cut the starter and the constant off of the ign harness. i put ring terminals on the starter(motor side) and on both constants (key side and battery side) when i crank it i turn the ign switch two clicks (the spot before "start") and then push the starter button.... the starter turns the engine but nothing happens....
this truck has sat for 5+ years until now... i was thinking i was going to have to pull the bed off so thats on the agenda for tomorrow
so the fuel pump relay is in the driver kick?

ya man, its the only relay in there it should click when u crank the engine

the relay beside the main fuse block under the hood is the main ignition relay

and before u pop the bed off, check for fuel at the filter,

ok thanks man... if i can get it running for under 500.00 total then i'll keep it... if not then i'm stripping it and parting it out..... i am at 375.00 right now (including the price of the truck) so hopefully i can get this thing running soon and inexpensively.

Good luck, that would be a great deal I paid 400 for my 22 and it is covered in rust.

one more reason i am glad to live in florida.... no snow... which means .... no salt on the roads in the winter... which means no where near the rust on older vehicles.
